This entire case smells.

Why is such a headlong rush to end this poor womens life, why has her husband denied her the extra care, why has her husband been living with another women, who has his child, while his wife is still alive, why is there no additional investigation into the new evidence being discovered.

WHY IS THIS WOMENS LIFE SO MEANINGLESS TO THE LEGAL SYSTEM?

You may not be aware of just how correct you are here.

Some of the initial rulings on people like Terri used Roe vs Wade as a basis. It's the right to privacy, you see.

"Judge Stephen Reinhardt, one of America's most liberal jurists and a champion of homosexual rights, wrote the majority opinion in Compassion in Dying v. State ofWashington. "A competent, terminally ill adult, having lived nearly the full measure of his life, has a strong liberty interest in choosing a dignified and humane death rather than being reduced to a childlike state of helplessness, diapered, sedated, incompetent." The underlying assumption is both prejudiced and dangerous: people who are aged, disabled or infirm would be better off choosing (and by implication, should choose) to be killed.

Reinhardt based his decision on Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, the U.S. Supreme Court decision which afforded "constitutional protection to personal decisions relating to marriage, procreation, contraception, family relationships, child rearing, and education."

Why doesn't Judge Moore just appoint a guardian ad litem? IMO that would end this controversy.
Maybe because the husband would lose control of the trust fund set aside for her care from that big court settlement? Or maybe, as someone suggested, Terri knows something? Like what happened the day she 'collapsed'.

I think they already had a guardian ad litem, who suggested they look further.

You're missing the bigger picture by thinking only of this one case, though this is important litigation for the culture of death, to be sure.

A person who is disabled or considered mentally incompetent has the right to die, whether they want to or not, as long as someone speaking on their behalf agrees.

Very soon the someone "speaking on their behalf" will no longer be required, actually.

Are you aware that the president of the Vermont Medical Society recently killed an elderly woman, with no request from her or her family to have her life ended? He injected her with a drug which causes muscle paralysis and she died within minutes.
No criminal action was taken. He stepped down from his position but was given another executive position with the Vermont Medical Society. End of story.

It's not supposed to be a big deal to kill people who are elderly, disabled, or considered mentally incompetent. This killing happens quite often. It is only in cases where the family is split over the choice that we hear about it.

Why doesn't Judge Moore just appoint a guardian ad litem?

It's "Greer", BTW - he seems to be a stubborn old man who's gotten his back up and refuses to consider that he may have been wrong all along. I think that's more likely than that he is conspiring with Schiavo & Felos, which has been suggested by some people.

Largo torn over best use for prime land
[SUNCOAST] HOSPICE, one of Largo's favored organizations, needs land that the city has targeted as its centerpiece for growth and development.

"LARGO -- The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast has developed a unique partnership with the city of Largo.

It began 14 years ago when members of the business community asked representatives for the largest not-for-profit hospice organization in the world to consider relocating its administrative headquarters to East Bay Drive.

Through the years, both prospered. The city added thousands of residents on acres of land. The hospice doubled the size of its headquarters.

When hospice was honored on a postage stamp in 1999, the official first-day-of-issue launch was at Hospice of the Florida Suncoast in Largo........

And they want $420,000 from the hospice, not the $318,000 that was offered. City officials say the higher price is based on a new appraisal.

Labyak and Kistler said they want to work with the city and negotiate a fair price.

But they want city officials to be mindful of the hospice's contribution to the city's economy. They have a budget of $72-million spent in Pinellas County, most of that used to compensate doctors, nurses, pharmacists and others delivering medical services.

Is there a possibility of some kind of collusion here? conflict of interest? There are a lot of interesting things that come up on google under 'suncoast hospice police land'. I don't have a firewall, so did not open but was intriqued by the document that came up under "Franklin Swaney" @ angelfire.com/pa2/efed/fulldeath.doc It appears that a lot of these docs have already been purged.

Re: the husband's lawyer Felos and his connection with Suncoast:

- How many other impaired but recovering persons may have been brought into the Hospice's "care" without their explicit consent?

-Under Florida law, do these human beings qualify for the basic guarantees of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, or are they only products to be mined by George Felos and "The Hospice of The Florida Suncoast"?
-If Felos and the Hospice espouse that incapacitated people have no rights other than those assigned to them by the Hospice and it's agents, then is "The Hospice of The Florida Suncoast" nothing more than a Death Factory?... "

Yes, and they get away with it, too. Those of us who consider this murder are labeled as crazy. There is really no such thing as the sancitity of human life in legal circles anymore, unless they deem a particular life worthwhile.

I was really into WWII history when I was a kid, so I know about all of Nazi Germany's "solutions". Dr. Mengele, "The Angel of Death", commited unspeakable experiments on live patients. Looks like the Nazis still have a lot of fans.

There is a lot of collusion going on with Suncoast and the principal figures. The more info that comes out, the dirtier it gets. Obviously they're above the law, because they won't even give the governor the time of day...
