RE Governor Moore: We do have colorful politicians in Alabama. I don't understand how Governor Riley made such a giganic mistake.

Halleluiah!
Now let's get to work ending graft & corruption!
To: Alas Babylon!
RE graft and corruption: If we get rid of the people involved in graft we would have to have new leaders to keep the state business intact.
To: Timesink
I suppose that Riley could now follow in the footsteps of Kenny Guinn (RINO - Nevada) and take his state and his taxpayers to court to get his tax hike for Jesus.

What a total nightmare that would be for decent people in Alabama.I think you meant frogs, not people. The people in Alabama supported Moores placement of the Ten Commandments by overwhelming majority.
The frogs enjoy it when the feds turn up the heat.

The people in Alabama supported Moores placement of the Ten Commandments by overwhelming majority. Placement, maybe. The circus he turned it into, not really. Anyway, even if a majority still supported the insanity he created down there, my original point still stands: it will be a nightmare for the decent people that have to live with the morons that vote Roy Moore into office.

The tax on adult toys and novelties in Alabama will increase, though....

If soon-to-be-elected Governor Moore tries the same argument, I doubt seriously whether Alabama residents buy the "God loves higher taxes" argument if he tries it, either.

Moore isn't the issue. You're the issue. If people vote the way you want they're decent and if they don't I presume they are indecent.
You get one vote and one vote only. And only the SCOTUS can decide who is and who is not decent. It's right there in the fourth concentric ring of the omnipotent 14th Amendment.

Moore is a fiscal as well as social conservative. I doubt he'll even run.
But you never know. :-}

I would swear it is as if he is actually happy that this amendment was defeated.Maybe, just maybe that was the plan. Let the people decide, and this time, they decided right.

If he doesn't plan to run for something, I have no rational explanation for his legal strategy that guaranteed he'd lose in the courts and become a martyr.
He's either planning to run for another office, or maybe it's a psychological condition, I dunno. Something made him decide to get run over by the Federal Court because the Chief Justice of a state supreme court knows a losing argument from a winning one.
