We did pretty well in 2002. We blew South Carolina big time, and underestimated the GOP margin in a few states where our last poll was a few days before the election (big GOP surge nationwide in last 5 days). But on the whole we did fine. One poster said we got Michigan wrong -- in 2002, we were very good in MI so he must be referring to 2000 when we did call that state wrong.

KXTV reported the poll incorrectly. We interviewed 1444 registered voters, in order to find 388 who watched the debate. Percentages for that subpopulation of 388 have a margin of error of 5.1%.

Our next poll is scheduled to be released to our California clients Tuesday 9/9. It will be on our website the following morning.

Not by him personally, although I just read that one of his spokesmen is accusing McClintock of some sort of flip-flop on the 2/3 majority issue.

If you're making the point that McClintock is talking about Arnold; well, for one thing, Arnold hasn't been as verbose as McClintock on ANY subject. But aside from that, I haven't heard anything from McClintock that was nasty or out of line; although his simple, factual reference to his greater experience in politics was labeled a slam by one headline.

Hey, congratulations Tom! You won the debate! That's just great because by staying in this race, you're going to be responsible for the LOSS of a SURE WIN for the second time in one year.

Great job Tom! Hope you've enjoyed your political career because it's DEAD if you don't drop out.

Great job Tom! Hope you've enjoyed your political career because it's DEAD if you don't drop out.

So, whatcha gonna say when and if Senator McClintock passes the illustrious star of stage and screen?

Are we going to hear a mea culpa from 'A Broken Glass Republican'?

Are you then going to call for your action hero to withdraw at that point?

Will you then crawl over broken glass to vote for Tom McClintock?

Thanks. Without giving anything away, do you have any idea on turnout?

I get the sense that Arnold is slipping. I guess we may have a better idea after this weekend.

ambrose, if what tubebender posted earlier in the thread is true, Arnold's campaign may be entering a death spiral and his 'council' members are doing what they can to ensure the defeat of the recall and McClintock.

It was a private poll done by DC interests.

Which grifting shill DC interests commissioned it? Some drooling bunch of Keyes fundraisers? Maybe JW? C'mon, lemme know which loud, constantly fundraising, doomcrying, prolific bookwriting, loser right wing perpetual pundits commissioned the poll.......

Here is the headline of the AP article today in the Times-Standard..."Schwarzenegger looks to keep campaaign steady after debate no-show". I'm sure you are better at researching AP stories than I...

If 37% believed Arnold did the right thing by staying away, and 30% think McClintock won the debate, who has the most support?

In apples, oranges, or likely voters?

Neither this poll, nor the two figures you cite, give any particular insight.

Thank you for your response.

I'm very impressed by Arnold Schwarzenegger's adherance to the famous "11th commandment" of Reagan's not to speak ill of fellow Republicans.

He's the only one who seems to be doing that.

McClintock has not spoken ill of a fellow Republican either.

I think he was talking about some few freeper supporters here in FR that tend to go off the deep end in their frenzy to win at any price through intimidation and lack of conservative consistency. Not Mr. Schwarzenegger! He's been a gentleman, not a mind numbing robot.

The mind numbing comes from the fervent hope of easy victory through star power, alone. That way, one doesn't even have to contribute, or walk precincts, or put up campaign signs or other political grunt work. One can just be an observing, and commenting cheerleader and not even work up a sweat.

So much anti-conservative vitriol in one paragraph.

Might just be a record of some kind.

I looked on the AP site but I'll look again now that I have the title. What local paper was it in?

I have developed a mental 'bozo filter' for some of these posts. I just cruise right on by now without flinching :-)

It's nice.

Maybe star power helps. It usually does.
But I saw pix of Arnold at the surfer beaches campaigning. That's a whole new voter base. I'd call it grunt work.

And I saw McClintock in the debates. Ain't no "star power" there. The only less charismatic person on the planet is Grey Davis.

Arnold can walk precincts and do grunt work. McC can't get a "charisma" injection.
