My God, do you realize that actual citizens of Ca will be treated like foreigners?

If your own state doesn't trust you with such basic responsibilities of citizenship as the ability to defend yourself and others with a weapon, why should the rest of us?

The arrogance of Gray Davis and the pro-licenses for illegals crowd is absolutely astounding. I'm a Californian, and I hope total chaos results from this! I hope other states refuse to accept our CDLs. I hope airlines refuse to accept them, as well. (Imagine millions of infuriated Californians scrambling to apply for passports just so they can fly to another state!) I hope Tancredo's idea gets implemented, too. I say, bring it on!!! Let Davis rue the day he ever signed this thing. Right now he's basking in the love from the less than 15% of California voters who adore him right now. Let him soon feel the hate and the fury of millions of outraged, inconvenienced Americans.

This may be an opportunity for Americans in California to send a resounding message to their legislatures and the rest of the country by voting for the recall of Davis and absolute defeat of the avowed racist Bustamante.

I think a better response would be to pass a bill to enact strict and uniform national voter registration.
Voter fraud (especially by illegals) is a real problem and this new law just makes it easier.
The logic is so unreal. An illegal is by definition a criminal. By aiding and abetting a criminal the DMV should be held guilty of a crime. Instead, it is made law. Driving is a privilege, not a right, even for citizens.

think it's disgraceful that we have to rely on a congressman from another state to do even this much.

Tancredo takes so much abuse for doing his job. The number 1 duty of a government is to maintain the safety of its borders.

Tom Tancredo - one of the FEW Congressional Republicans suffering from ACUTE TESTICULAR ATROPHY!!! That's probably why Carl Rove hates him so.

Go get them Tom!!!

Yeah, let's all go back to bed and pull the covers over our heads. Nothing is going to help us. Especially if we take to using the Democrats dooms day talk. Suck it up funkywbr. The only thing that would be bad is to do nothing. Speak up, speak out write our representatives. We can change things.

Whoops!!

Sorry about that. It should have read "One of the few Congressional Republicans NOT suffering from ACUTE TESTICULAR ATROPHY" (otherwise known as ATA).

No argument there. But the proposed remedy is even more stupid and foolish.

the day after the Dimwit Davis signs this bill we will be putting a referendum together to reverse the law...which will automatically put a stay on the law until there is a vote on the referendum...we might just put a proposition together to eliminate the state income tax while we're at it! :-)

That is good news, and I like that idea of abolishing the income tax! I'd be grateful just to roll back this bill, and escort our ininvited guests back over the border, reintroduce Prop 187, thus lowering our taxes significantly.

Btw, K Cal 9 news just had a story on Davis signing the bill on Los Angeles' East Side tonight. Wish I could quote the Happy Hooker's sound bite, he's trolling Beverly Hills at the moment. Phony crocodile smile as he blamed his changing his mind on the illegals that do the work American's won't do. K Cal mentioned that Mexican American business owners were very angry with Davis last year when he vetoed the bill.

If anyone wonders how Arnold will vote, right after the Davis story, he was shown answering a reporter asking him how he drove in America. Lol, he had an International DL. Did a good job of tapdancing around his initial immigration status, then swiftly changed the subject to how bodybuilding was just being recognized, something like that that had nothing to do with the original question.

This is a good issue for a debate. Present all the detrimental factors associated with the passage of this bill, then ask him if he still favors it, if he actually comes out in public to support it.

Colorado has another present for California - Tabor. It's been brought up as one solution to California's runaway spending. I believe it was Peter Uberoth. Given the fiscal problems California has, a Tabor ammendment will slowly gain traction no matter who is Governor.

Governing California is going to be an increasing challange under the prospects of Highway Funding cuts and Tabor.
