Tennessee of course gave us Sam Houston ,"the Father of Texas"!

Oh, yes! And I knew that too, from when I read Michener's "Texas" (an excellent book!), but I had forgotten about it.

I love it that so many of you have added more information to the thread on Tennessee. Some of what I knew about the state I had forgotten, and some of what I remembered, I couldn't include because there just wasn't enough room. I have had this problem with all the states I have done. Too much to say and not enough space.

So, I will continue to depend upon the Finest vistors to fill in the blanks.......it's more fun that way anyway. I like the group participation....and we all learn something. What could be better than that? ;-)

Thanks for the time of year reply. I will have to read your comments and the comments of out other freepers from TV closer when I get some time next week.

Thanks for the input. Spring is my favorite time of year in general so April in TN one of these days sounds like a plan to me.
