Not at all. As I said earlier, people show false modesty to have more praise heaped on them. Very unbecoming. If you were truly modest, you'd take the award, thank everyone and be done with it. Instead you say (basically) "hey everyone, I got a medal, but to show how truly better I am than everyone else, I don't accept it and it's too bad others don't have the convictions of principle I do". Give me a break with your false modesty.

People with a sense of honor know that when a list comes out giving awards by rank with no regard to actions it is wrong.

I said people who did. My leaders who taught me about honor the old fashioned way, by example.
