Regarding the attack on "energy facilities", the newspaper today had an article about the blackout. Several hours BEFORE the black one of the providers had an indication of a bad line, but their computer was acting "funky". The article was based on phone transcripts. Another provider, or someone kept calling them asking what line was power line was bad, and the guy said they were having computer problems but would get back to him right away. The other person called back later and asked again what was going on. And the answer was "the computers keep crashing".

I'm glad it was just a computer problem and not terrorism. ;)

Just because we haven't heard of every attempt doesn't mean that there haven't been others. To bring attention to big captures would also bring attention to bigger threats (increasing panic and domestic "terror").

We may never know what is transpiring around us. Sometimes it is better that way (but not always). Certainly the media method of describing troop deployment does little for people back in the states but much for those meaning our citizens (here and abroad) harm.

there have been possibly upwards of maybe half a dozen public Islamofascist terrorist acts since 9/11/01 but they have not registered as such on the political landscape (loose nut theory).

Shoe Bomber, Tampa Teen Kamekazi, DC Homosexual Sniper Team, LAX Air Israel shooting. My memory fails me but someone can probably offer up at least 2 more.

We haven't lived without incident since 9.11.2001 but then again we had domestic attacks (like the CIA entrance shootings) prior to the year 2001 too. Heck we had the 1993 WTC bombing (with cyanide gas which incinerated in the explosion).
