"My son is not brilliant; he's not genius," Rita Parson said. "Anyone that has any computer knowledge could have done what Jeff did." So he DID do it, huh? Nice confession, there, mom.

"Anyone that has any computer knowledge could have done what Jeff did."Take responsibility for your actions? Gosh no! That's a terrible idea! [/sarcasm]
Someone needs to slap these parents just as hard as they slap this kid.
Just damn.
If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

"I understand that the government needs to catch someone for these crimes. I'm not the one they need to get," he said. Oh I see, so it is right for the criminal to decide if he deserves to be punished now? I wonder what kind of dreamworld this idiot lives in. I don't care if he is a kid. I don't care if he was bored and looking for something to do. HE HURT PEOPLE. He knowingly did an illegal, criminal act. He deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law. Being a complete moron is no excuse

"Anyone that has any computer knowledge could have done what Jeff did."
But they didn't, he did. He's the turd that the majority of it points to and if he is the one who caused the majority of the damage then he should do some time and pay some serious fines.

"My son is not brilliant; he's not genius," Rita Parson said. LOL... With support like this from your mother, who needs friends?

They're getting some good advice. It's called "poisoning the jury pool", what they're doing. The judge who'll be sentencing him is reading the press too. To the judge, who's never run a business or worked in the private sector, the "multimillion dollar losses" are totally abstract concepts compared to this neatly dressed "good kid" standing in front of him grinning sheepishly. The judge wasn't taught in law school to have compassion for abstract concepts. Cat's prediction: slap on the wrist!

I say let the obnoxious little $hi+ run his mouth off more. Give him a LOT of airtime and ink. When it comes time to decide his punishment, his antics after getting nabbed will insure that he gets what's coming to him (if real justice wins out). Put him in a 12 x 12 white-painted room with a BIG LIGHT in the center of the cieling...don't turn off the light and don't let him out.
Real genius...sure he is. He modified someone else's handiwork. By those standards, I'd be a genius if I took an old corvette, slotted a bigger, modern powerplant under the hood...after all, I will have made it perform better, no?

Not a single ounce of remorse from the kid, or from the parents It's too bad he hadn't hooked up with the 13 year old girl on the other running thread.
He'd have had other things on his mind, and could have left the computers alone.

He's no kid - he's eighteen years old! They're making him out to be a kid when there's men his age fighting over in Iraq right now......

You make a good point. He is NOT a kid, but he is still a punk who deserves to be thrown in a cell and fed meals through the bars.

As judge, I sentence you to an eternity of watching endless reruns of Perkie Katie Couric's bowel prep and colonoscopy.
This will be the uncensored edition which as I understand it is a pretty "crappy" piece of video! As a final punishment I sentence you watch an even more horrific colonoscopy, that of Senor Al Roker. May God have mercy on your eyes!
