This will open the way for Sylvester Stallone to run for Edwards' seat.

Arkansas will be a tougher nut to crack than NCarolina.
Apparently Jim Holt will run in Arkansas. I'll post that article a little later.

John Edwards' announcement means a GOP third seat pick up in the South. He had low approval ratings at home and this IS really good news. Edwards got elected in the Clinton backlash in 98 and Lauch Faircloth wasn't that much of a terribly strong Senator. Right now the only GOP seat in trouble is in Illinois. It looks like we're set to expand our Senate majority by +2.

First, "Foghorn Leghorn," now the "Breck Girl." If only someone would step up to the plate in ND and Nevada, we might actually get a 60-vote majority in 04.

Last week, former South Carolina Gov. Jim Hunt (D), a key Edwards supporter, predicted Edwards would drop out of the Senate race when he officially declares his candidacy for president Sept. 16, in his hometown of Robbins, N.C.Unfortunately, Jim "do it for the schoooolllls" Hunt was the North Carolina Governor, for what seemed like forever.

Edwards is toast either way now.

I think Jim Gibbons can win in Nevada. As for Tom Daschle well if he retires, I think the GOP can claim it, otherwise it looks iffy.

Does he expect to be tapped for VP by Hillary?

Do you think Hunt will be the one to run against Burr for the Senate seat?
