"I am disappointed to see him surrendering so easily," said Sen. Rodney Ellis of Houston. "All 11 of us have made true sacrifices to be here in Albuquerque. I have a newborn baby at home that doesn't even know what I look like. ... No personal sacrifice is so great as to outweigh the constitutional issues at stake."

When this all started, I thought it was pretty much a publicity stunt, hoping to garner some press and public outrage.

Now i believe they are truly delusional.

Send the kid a picture of a rattlesnake. Or maybe an amoeba, any invertebrate slime.

You really need to show some compassion to those Texas 11-year olds... :>

Don't tell me he's sitting with other people, unlike Jackson-Lee demanding a whole row to herself.

Does the House members have to be in session too?

I thought they finished their portion and sent it to the Senate (or do the Housies have to be around to conference should there be a need to work out differences between the House's and Senate's version of the bill before goes to the gov.?)

I think the next stunt will be for Whitmire to show up at the Senate and the *other* Democrat Senator who didn't flee joining his colleagues. That or idiot Ratliff does it for them. Either way, don't count The Chickens before the bill is passed.

That is possible -- that Armbrister of Victoria will flee instead. It is probably cheaper for the Democrats to finance 11 fleeing senators than 53 or so fleeing House Democrats. The Democrats will never give up on this.

"He's unilaterally made a decision that affects all of us. "

Anyone else notice the use of this EVIL word?

I've always assumed Armtwister stayed around as a spy to monitor what the Repubs were doing back in Austin. If Whitmire has lost his taste for hotel food, I'd expect the Dems to call Armtwister out there to join them.

Agh, who knows anymore? The House RATS scurried off to Oklahoma and had their childish sock puppet tantrum over it, they lost, and it was sent on to the Senate. But I'm probably wrong.
