The DB5 was eventually bought by collector Anthony Pugliese, 22 years later, from a Sotheby' auction in 1986. He owned the car for 11 years and used it extensively for displays and exhibitions. Unfortunately this classic car is now lost to posterity for, in June 1997, it was stolen from the Boca Airport Hangar, where it used to be kept.
John Stears effects team did up the car (which was loaned, being too expensive to buy) brilliantly, turning it into a real arsenal on wheels. It had the following features.
- Hydraulic rams, front and back (sequence not shown in film)
- Bulletproof glass in all windows
- Armoured rear shield which can raise to give extra protection to the back of the car
- Revolving English, French and Swiss licence plates
- High powered oil-jet in rear light clusters
- Device at the rear to drop nails. This device was not shown, to avoid encouraging children
- Pipe to shoot smoke from the rear of the car
- Ben Hur-style wheel-crunher in front nearside wheel
- Mobile phone in drivers door panel (not shown in Goldfinger)
- Weapons tray beneath the drivers seat (not shown in Goldfinger)
- Onboard radar screen for tracking homing device across the world
- Weapons control panel in the centre arm rest
- Passenger ejector seat, operated by a hidden button in the gearstick

The actual car, revolving plates, machine guns, telescoping axle, ejector seat and retractable bullet proof shield. OK, in that case the world's coolest car is that particular Aston Martin. Of course Bond had to have a British car.
In general, the world's coolest car is the Bugatti Royale, certainly not the Aston Martin.

A Jeep CJ over a Defender? Not! Jeeps are cheap and most are built up by owners to make them trail ready. A Defender off the show room floor is much more capable that a jeep. That's from one who runs IH Scouts. Land Rovers and Internationals are in the same class.

Did you see this?
How gay is your car? I like the retro stylin myself. Also saw an article someplace about how uncool the PTC is now, since they are so plentiful.
I'll vote for Ghias. And the '67 Mustang. Drop tops, of course.

Hogwash! I live in Chile and Jeeps off the showroom floor can get to places the Land Rovers (of which there are many down here) cannot even think of getting to.
My 22 YEAR OLD JEEP which I have had for over 12 years, continues to amaze and is pretty much stock.
I rememeber one logging road in the south of Chile near Pucon where I had to continually jump over 3 foot wide, 3 foot deep gullies, for about 30 miles or more. No Land Rover, particularly no stock Land Rover, could even hope to do that, at least not the old ones with their puny engines (the modern ones I don't know)

Oh my goodness. That is the ugliest car I have ever seen. It reminds me of Barbra Streisand.

I'm not sure. I got it off the web. I've never owned one. I don't have the money. :(

That hood is way too long. That's what makes it look so cool. It was a car of its time. Your truck might draw a couple of envious glances down at the farmers market but the E Type got everyone's attention.

Yeah, I can see why..."Good God! What IS that thing??? Kill it! Before it's too late!
LOL just kidding. I recognize my distaste for that look is definitely in the minority opinion. Then again...
"You could set my truck on fire
Roll it down a hill
and I still wouldn't trade it
for a Coupe De Ville.
