I don't really keep up with 'hip hop' per se, but I *think* it was a singer named "R Kelly" and not Snoop Dogg who had sex with underage girls & video taped it.

It's not too different from white guys who do the same thing, like the heir to the Max Factor fortune -- I forget his name. And actor Rob Lowe pulled a similar stunt back in the, what was it, early or mid 1990s?

Don't be too hard on the ladies -- they wouldn't be acting trampy on t.v. if men didn't like it. Remember there has to be a demand, otherwise there wouldn't be a supply.

Also, I feel somewhat sorry for real life prostitutes. I'm sure some of them come from broken homes and just don't know any better, and probably don't know how to leave that kind of lifestyle. I'm sure none of them *enjoy* having to have sex with losers just to earn a buck.

However, someone like Madonna does know better, and she came from a middle class background (her dad earned a six figure income as some sort of engineer), so it's not like Madonna *had* to whore herself to have a roof over her head and food in her belly.

All Madonna was doing was ripping off the lesbian pop duo Tatu, who always end a singing performance by kissing one another.

Don't be so sure that those jeans were bought by "Joe Blow" consumer. Madonna routinely does things like ask fans (or pay them or to entice them with prizes, e.g., her autograph on merchandise) to show up at her public appearances to make it look as though she's still hip, relevant, and popular.

(Planting friends and relatives in the audience at Madonna performances was a strategy used at the first of Madonna's career, initiated by her first manager, Camille Barbone. Perhaps this is where Madonna picked up this tactic.)

The reason why Madonna's "American Life" album sold well its first week or so in the United States and then pretty much dropped out of sight soon thereafter is because the fans were told to buy *multiple* copies of it early on. After they did that, the rest of the country wasn't interested in it, and hence, no sales after the 1st or 2nd week of its release.

Madonna is deceptive in her p.r. releases about how many albums she has truly sold, and some in the media just repeates whatever numbers Madonna hands them without questioning it.

For instance, Madonna and her cronies will state that she sold (for example. let's just say) 100 records, when in reality, she sold just ONE.

What she does is ship 100 albums out to stores, counts that as being 100 sold, and when the stores return the 99 that did not sell, she makes sure not to bring that up.

So I wouldn't be surprised if she bought the 1,000 pairs of jeans herself or got her fans to do that.

I'm not positive about this, but I *think* I've seen the screen name 'maverick man' at a pro Madonna web site, http://www.madonnapower.com

I would assume that he chose the name 'maverick' since that is the name of Madonna's record company.

Like all true zombified Maddy fans, he will defend her no matter what, even if she began killing little old grandma ladies in her music videos.
