Story virtually ignored on the 6pm PBS, CNN, MSNBC and FOX.
Let's see how the networks play it.
SimpleSoldier, thanks for the updates and pix.
THere is a street kabab place behind the Taj called Bade Mian. Some of the best food, if its not shutdown for now.

Nothing in the first five minute lead stories on Bombay bombings.
Heads up the arse news editors of US broadcoast networks report it's still dark in here.
Ah, well, these dead stiffs don't count for nothing, anyway.

Bombay is the great melting pot of South Asia ... and has a mix of people from Iran to Burma. No - there aren't any Indian megacity with majority Muslim population. But even if the muslims of 15 % population in a city of 15 million people - that is about 2.2 million muslims in Bombay alone and they stay together in ghettos from which most criminal activities are co-ordinated. Racially - Muslims are similar to Hindus so they can mingle and cause mayhem in these large cities if they wish to. The fact that this is the first such big bomb attack in Bombay in 10 years is a miracle - something much bigger like the 911 thing had been anticipated - like Bombay is the commercial capital , melting pot , historical spots , Bollywood and plenty of tall buildings which are mainly residential. Incidentally the top police official of Bombay is a muslim - an upper class muslim - a decent bloke from a class which is by and large fairly secular but have no roots in the general muslim population and keep only hindu or christian friends.

Thank you.
I am now remembering that a major part of Salman Rushdie's book "Midnight Children", one of my favorite books, plays in Bombay.
