I wonder if Justin's had any comment on Graydon Carter's letters from the editor in the last few issues, where he's been trying to tear Dubya new orifices about the Iraq thing. Or does that fact get in the way of a good rant?

I'm annoyed by unnecessary excerpting too.
But, in this case, the excerpt was too long.
And your post of the entire article was way way too long.

Watch it, Reagan Man will be here shortly to thrash you for saying that... about Ronald "never had a libertarian thought in his life" Reagan. Reagan probably never said he liked FDR either. He was never a democrat and was born a conservative...
btw, np... who the heck is raimondo, and wasn't there a guy here on freerepublic by that name that got.. er shall we say... exited from the forum?

Oh dear ... I am getting SO weary, from the outraged, who find my simple statements of facts, to be somehow " insulting ", " inflamatory ", or some other such, which then gives them permission ( I wish I knew from whom ) to attempt to thrash me verbaly. *sigh*
Old Justine is one and the same exFREEPER you referred to. Just WHY his sychophant ( the last one, in the short line )keeps posting the sludge he writes for PRAVDA, on FR, is open for question. I have a few theories, concerning this, of my own. LOL

Did Hitchens write for Pravda like Justine the Lavender Queen of surrender monkey foreign policy???? I don't need Lavender Andrew Sullivan as a "conservative" leader either. Garrett Garrett is gone and he will not resurrect until the Last Judgment.

It is not about Hitchens. It IS about IT. IT is Justine the Lavender Queen and it is about its track record of writing for Pravda, its knee jerk anti-Americanism, its imbecile website antiwar.com, its anti-Semitic broken record, its fascination for burrowing into the most vulnerable "minds" on the "right" to promote the heresy that Neville Chamberlainism did not die a very deserved death at Pearl Harbor, its extreme frustration over its lost social opportunities every time there is a war and its curious lifestyle choice which is not at all conservative.
You forgot to give a pseudo-conservative Fifth Column warning!
Burke would be ashamed.

Raimondo is little more than an anti-Semitic raver, who sees the Jew underneath every bed.
Sorry if you buy into his bullshit, Burkeman. Guess the war against Islamic fascism has passed you by. Don't worry, however. There are brave men out there who will protect you.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Good article. I disagree with his portrayal of neocons as the "marxist right" but it's a minor point. I see marxism and fascism as very similiar political views, defined mainly by who the power structure is used to enrich. This public/private partnership mantra we see being instilled in our society reeks more of fascism to me.

When I first glanced at the title of this thread my first thought was "Raimondo, Buchanan, or Rockwell." Btw, did Justin steal the phrase "war party" from Pat or was it the other way around?

I suspect this will be met with the same non response as all articles are by anyone who has the slightest bad word to say against this idiot war? Nah, we ignore Justine because he's a babbling moron who thinks that quantity is more important than quality, not because of the subject matter that he's writing about here.

No, seriously, as a long time FReeper, I thought this was posted to show the hilarious antics of the antiwar crowd. I didn't know your history or that anyone exposed to regular doses of FreeRepublic could take this sillyness as valid.
I really did laugh. And really did mean, "Thanks for the laugh."
The left is always trying to scare us with ridiculous non-sequitors. But, you gotta admit, "Marxist Right" is one of the better bugaboos in recent history.
"Peak a Boo" is a little scarey to infants and toddlers. But, even the truly naive know that it's only a game. The "mask" doesn't really change anything.
BOO!

Marxist Right is a good term to add to the lexicon and goes nicely with the new name, Vichycons, floating out there for the mainstream Right that apologize for the statists worshipping neoconservatives.

So while Raimondo and you bash Hitchens as a court polemicist for Bush and the War Party, and suggest Vanity Fair is a court organ, you don't find it relevant to the discussion that Vanity Fair regularly posts articles criticizing the Bush Administration, and in particular that the editor has become an open and vocal opponent of Bush's handling of the war. Interesting. You call it non-responsive on my part. I call it ignorance of contrary fact on your part.
