Thanks for the ping, Liz.
It's good to see that the truth of the rotten neocons is coming out. The neocons and their adherents response to critics of : "Anti-Semite!" is wearing quite thin. Hopefully we'll learn a lesson or two from Iraq and folks will put the neocons back into their closet where they belong.

Thank you. Amazing how the Buchannan Brigade is sounding more and more like the Bakunnin Brigade a little more each day...

Status Report: Conservatives still don't have a clue about who or what they are. This deficiency is expected to contiuue into the foreseeable future.

Does this intimate that the neoconservative movenment is an advocate of expanded government? I think it does.Just how much has the federal budget decreased in the last 3 years? The last 11? Can anyone tell a difference. </sarcasm>

Neocon = interventionist. Maybe that's not always bad, but it's the picking & choosing that bothers me. We have Cuba led by Communist dictator Fidel Castro (Dan Blather's hero) just a few miles off our coast still in power. Maybe he'll be the "Dictator of the Month" for September. And then Vincente Fox & Jean Chretien will be the flavor of the month in October & November. Only then will the North American continent be safe.
Is a sarcasm tag really needed?

There's never been a question that the Neos are Big Gummint Republicans. And Kristol so much as says it outright when he indicates that their work will be done "against the will..." of the (conservative) Republicans.
Another 100 years in the desert for the 10th Amendment.

when a danger to our country appears we will take it to the enemy and destroy him wherever he can be foundI certainly hope you re-phrase that to comport with Just War theory.
"Threats" are not sufficient for attacks.

Tell that to 3,000 Americans who died on 9-11 cause we failed to act sooner.

How many neo-cons does it take to screw in a light bulb?
What light bulb? It was a threat; we nuked it.

If the Democrat party is destroyed in the next election, then Republicans can happily split into separate parties. And maybe that's a good goal to attain. I would never want one-party rule. If you can have two viable parties which are at their core pro-America, the nation would be the better. But we know that Democrats are not for America's best interests. They need to be destroyed.

We're not acquiring nor are we interested as a country in gaining territory for the sake of territory as the European colonialists did. What we come with is a powerful idea that terrifies the daylights of our enemies and warms the hearts of oppressed peoples every where. We're making the world more secure for America. I invite our critics and enemies to take issue with it for if this isn't another American Century, the world will be back at war.First of all, "the powerful idea" to which you refer is not something which can be implanted in the minds and hearts of people NOT familiar with European legal traditions--the Judeao-Christian heritage--in a matter of months, or even a couple of years. This implies that there will be lengthy engagement of one sort or the other.
Secondly, while your post makes sense in an over-arching philosophical way, the practical reality is that, in fact, we ARE going to acquire territory--because the presumption is that the newly-elected(?) leadership of these places will be friendly to our interests.
Beyond that, if you define 'American interests' as does Rush Limbaugh, who is certainly not an extremist, such 'interests' include natural resource availability for the USA. Let us mention oil. If the free flow of oil is in 'our national interest', as Rush states, then our interest is, in fact, to acquire land (or what's underneath the land) exactly as did other empires.
I think your statement needs a little work.

A house divided against itself can not stand. And this is why I've dropped the "conservative" title. Ask 10 conservatives what conservatism truly is and you'll get 10 different answers.

We toppled a regime in Afghanistan because we were attacked on 9/11. The case was made that our national interests were at stake in Iraq. Time will tell if that charge will hold up. Saddam was openly sponsoring terrorism. He had to go after 9/11.

Get a grip.
The people who pulled off 9/11 had ALREADY attacked the USA in Africa (the embassy) and the Cole.
Not a valid example--regardless of how X42, Traitor-in-Chief for 8 years, handled it.
Got a better example?

So when you walk home, you simply shoot all the "threats" who appear on your block? I don't think so.
Defensive preparedness is NOT equivalent to taking the offense and initiating attacks.

Must be a 'neighborhood' thing.
Where I live, random gunshots are VERY rare, except when I'm cleaning out chipmunks and woodchucks.

I've got to admit that the conservative movement will need to sort things out. To be blunt, I see the paleos splitting off for sure, and to be honest, I've become a lot more uncomfortable with the social conservatives and "culture war" types.
