Merryman appearing in October issue
Associated Press
Gordon
The breakup of four-time Winston Cup champion Jeff Gordon's marriage is the subject of the October issue of Playboy magazine, in which a model claims she caused the breakup.
Deanna Merryman said in the article she met Gordon in 2000 while working at a Neiman Marcus store in Florida and the two started an 11-month affair that led to the breakup from his wife, Brooke.
Jeff and Brooke Gordon, a former Miss Winston model, were officially divorced in June.
"It's not even worth commenting on," Gordon said. "All I want to talk about is being fast here at Bristol. I would rather just stay away from that."
Asked if there were anything in the article he thought was untrue, Gordon replied: "I have a lot of opinions on it but I don't think there is any reason to share that with anybody."
Merryman says Gordon left her for another model after an 11-month affair, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Brooke Gordon filed for divorce in 2002, citing marital misconduct on Jeff Gordon's part. Brooke Gordon received at least $15.3 million as part of a divorce settlement.

Did you see Kurt's I am God's gift to NASCAR interview tonight.
According to Kurt he did nothing in the last two years. It's all Jimmy's fault.
He is going to say something that really ticks of Bill France Jr and out he goes from NASCAR

Wally was an OK racer, like his Dad in USAC, but like many OK racers he never had really good rides.

Yes I did.
And I love it. I haven't had anyone to really despise in the sport since Dale Earnhart Sr. I didn't REALLY hate Dale, but it was awfully fun to hope that he did badly. It goes back to the very early days when he was a driver much like Kurt Busch. I was very saddened and shocked by his death, though. It really took a lot of the fun out of it.
I don't want Kurt Busch to be killed, either. But I've finally found someone else who I hope ends up with a mangled car every single race. The guy is a jerk.
Upside down and on fire. Every race.

I liked Dale and he respected the sport, NASCAR, and the other drivers.
Kurt only respects himself, he has no use for anyone else.
His problem will be the other drivers but his biggest problem I predict is the France family.

What does that mean "never had a good ride"? Just watching this stuff for a few years and don't know that one.

Dale was like that in his early years, although he actually was a gentleman at the end of his career. He was a superb driver, and I'm glad I got him to autograph a photo which hangs on my study wall.
Busch may turn around, too. But for now, I want that turning around to be on the roof of his car.

It means he drove for teams that weren't top of the sport. He once in awhile drove for AJ Foyt but normally his teams didn't have the best equipment or plenty of money.
The smaller under financed teams are in the race but it takes a ton of luck for them to win.

It means not being with a team with enough funds to compete against the superowners like Jack Roush and Ray Childress.
The annual team budget for a car has ballooned into the multi-millions per year.
