Life has no value beyond its productivity on behalf of the almighty state.

Well stated. I have likened these situations to disposal of paper plates and plastic forks after the picnic.

Do you think there's a chance that all of you don't have the facts? The only sources I ever see referred to are semi-hysterical and 1-sided websites/quotes/etc generated by her family.

No, I'm not relying on websites or her family. I have watched the woman interact with her mother with my own two eyes on various occasions on TV.

Her husband has kept her isolated from therapy for more than a decade.

If the state orders that woman starved to death when her parents are willing to caref or thie daughter, there is something radically wrong with the system and the morality of America. No two ways about it.

Shutting off life support normally ends the life in three days; removing a food tube takes perhaps 40 days to die! The person who has life support shut off is unaware of what has happened. The one being starved to death is facing "curel and unusual punishment" in the name of liberalism and life insurance.

Is it possible that Terri can be spoon fed after the evil judge orders her death?

And how much is this life insurance? Has anyone tried to pay off Michael? The reporters on this story leave so many unanswered questions.

Well, the feeding tube removal could bring death in less than 40 days, but didn't the Northern Irish activist Bobby Sands take 40 days to die from his hunger strike in 1981?

Were these liberal judges appointed by the late liberal Governor Chiles, or elected? I do hope that the Schindlers can bear this tragedy, but I don't see how they can. They will develop a hatred for government, I suspect.

Would this be one of the same judges that tried to help Al Gore steal the White House? Seems like the same mentality.

I haven't found anything to suggest that. From what I can tell this Judge is basing his opinion on "that there is no hope of a medical cure" and that there is "clear and convincing evidence" that Terri would not want to live in her present condition"

Now from what I can tell the Judge denied requests for her family to do tests like being able to learn to swallow and the only thing I can find about her wishes of not wanting to live in her present condition is from testimony that her husband gave ..

One, why deny these tests and two, how does the Judge know her husband is telling the truth?

Why does Michael Schiavo want this woman dead so badly? Could it be that he is afraid she will recover and "tell all" about his past? Another question: when did the Schindler family first know that this was the wrong husband for Terri? What prompted them to find out his true character? Just how much money does he stand to benefit? I do not see how the Schindler family can withstand "this cup."

Still - I'm not buying that all facts are out there for all to know. Even with "liberalism run amok", I find it hard to believe that the courts would unilaterally allow the guy to "kill his wife".

And SL - that's a great soapbox/diatribe. But good grief - all that from this issue? My Grandad used to say: It's never as good as you think it is, and it's never as bad as you think it is. Keep that it mind - it's a piece of advice that's suited me well over the years.....

a nightmarish comatic state through the use of medical technology

The only thing that's keeping Terri alive is food. Is food considered "medical technology"?

Is it possible that Terri can be spoon fed after the evil judge orders her death?

From what I can tell her husband has refused any kind of therapy for her .. as for the money left in her fund, from what I can tell no one knows for sure because her husband refuses to release the information.

This case is very bizarre and I don't understand why this Judge didn't order her a state guardian on her behalf

"all that from this issue?"

No, NOT from one issue. It is purely out of exasperation with a judiciary that is more and more dictating every part of our lives all the while giving little or no consideration to the will of the parties directly affected nor to whether their "dictates" are right or wrong. It is the heartbreak of seeing our country slipping away and concern over what will be left for our children. This one issue is just one in a long succession of illustrations that we are no longer the America our forefathers envisioned and fought and died for.

Well, I do understand your exasperation.

But remember.....

It's never as good as you think it is, and it's never as bad as you think it is. Things will swing back the other way - look at Victorian times compared to the 1950's - from decadent to squeaky-clean and back yet again - and we're due. Keep your chin up.

Here's to your having a good day.

Thank you for your words of encouragement. It's sometimes hard to believe that folks used to consider me the eternal optimist. I just never thought I'd ever see things get as bad as they have. In times past the degree of decadence which we now suffer has been a sure sign of the downfall of nations, and what is that quote, "if we dont' learn from history, we are doomed to reapeat it."

Has Michael Schiavo kept the parents from visiting Terri? This case is important: one should leave a "living will," and one should more carefully select her husband.

Is there any substance to the report that Michael Schiavo strangled her 13 years ago and caused this state of disability? The parents should give more details, but I don't guess anything will stop her execution. Once a liberal judge makes up his mind, not even the outrage of a Sandra Day O'Connor could stop him.

The failure of politicians, both in FL and elswhere, to speak up for this poor woman is further proof that euthanasia is now fully endorsed by a large segment, if not a majority, of the American public.

Well, you have much more faith in the American judicial system, as now operated, than I do. I have zero confidence in it.

Under FL law, cannot a man divorce a wife confined to a nursing home? Therefore, he cannot be engaged as such, as he is not divorced. He has not divorced her undoubtedly because there a dollar signs in his head. Or perhaps he has such hatred for her and the in-laws that he deliberately stayed "married" so as to reach his current "15 minutes of fame."

If she can be spoon-fed, can he keep her parents away from performing the task? As Dickens would say, if that is what the law allows, to put it mildly, the law is an "ass."

You should read "The Fourth Turning". It maps 4 distinct personality types, and 4 cycles in history that have repeated consistently since the War of the Roses. It might help give you a little perspective, and also a little peace.

It worked for me.....
