Probably because the software in question was all Microsoft software?
If the unlicensed software remaining on those 6 systems were all Microsoft products, there isn't much point in blaming the other members of the BSA for the way he was treated.
Yes, if true that could explain it. But this ain't your mail list.
before I make a complaint.
"Before"? Why now act ashamed you have done this, when you were so quick to hit the momma button above?
And, the best way to end the personal attacks is to leave politics out of the tech forum.
FYI this is not a 'tech' forum. Hacker hangouts are worthless boards, and FR has much more to offer. It's 99% politics here, so you need to go elsewhere if politics, especially criticism of left wing fanaticism, offends you.
I have been inundated with personal attacks by the "free" software/music/younameit guys because my comments place proper critique on their actions. Yet, I have only hit the momma button once, that in regard to someone posting the full name and other details of one of the posters. Get your hounds to pipe down some and I might be more sympathetic to your whine. But I won't take your offer to enter a "momma button contest", and I think the admins will appreciate that.
Call it whatever you want. But, I'm not the one violating the guidelines and getting my postings removed.
Grow up and start taking responsibility for your actions.
Not so. Look up "innocent infringer" on Google.
But WE helped him out it seems to say. I will LMAO if he now gets stuck with a SCO fee in addition to his BSA fines!
In fact the GPL won't even "steal" anyone's IP at all. If the person "stealing" the GPL IP doesn't live up to the GPL, then it's a garden variety copyright violation, same as if the person "stole" Sun's or Microsoft's IP.
According to 99% of Linux fanatics it does. Just like when SCO unknowingly released a version of Linux that potentially had IP planted by IBM.
No, it's not. But, you wondered why I used the terminology.
Why now act ashamed you have done this, when you were so quick to hit the momma button above?
Your memory is pretty short. I gave you your first warning back on 8/7/2003. A second and final warning followed soon thereafter the same day. I don't feel the need to warn you any longer.

The single topic on this thread is "Technical". I didn't post it to any other forum.

Criticism of left-wing fanaticism doesn't bother me (as I don't care for it, either), but when you use it to attack other posters to FR by association, my tolerance ends.

You apparently have a higher tolerance for personal attacks than I. I suppose that's a necessary pre-requisite for you. But, if you treat others with respect, they'll do the same for you.

I don't claim responsibility for anyone but myself. If you have a problem with the other posters, call them on it. If they persist, what you do is up to you. But, when they insist that you treat them in the same manner you are demanding, heed their request or yours will fall on deaf ears.
