Pardon me if I don't believe a word of this. It would be HIGHLY unusual for an officer or NCO to allow this and if he/she did and it was discovered, there would be very serious consequences.

Probably what would have happened, at best, is that this guy's brother would have been detained and his film or tape taken away from him. In any case, I think that this entire story is a crock of crap.

Exactly. The "blame America First" crowd often points to how we are not popular in some quarters of the world, and argues that we must really be doing bad things if we are so disliked.
