But I'm telling you, Connecticutt, there is some strange vibe in that state. Spent a night there once, got the papers at the hotel in the morning and two stories caught my eye.

One was re-hash of some convulted three-way love affair during the demise of which one woman had attacked the other woman in her home and shot her MULTIPLE times with a shotgun (re-loaded and everything), backed her in the bath tub and just kept pumping lead. Miraculously the intended victim survived. I think the story was in because the shooter was up for parole.

The other story was about some poor woman with brain cancer, and the whole family, hubby, teenage daughters, and even her Minister were all HOPING she'd die soon, so as not to become a burden.

Well, it had been a long day and a late night driving before, and it was only about 9 am, but I closed the paper and turned to hubby and said, "How fast can we get to the border?"

The nutmeg state, whatever that really means.
