Our prayers are with you and all of our troops during this time. Thank you for reminding us of the stress on the families. All military families are in my prayers, not only as we hold rallies to show support but, everyday. Take care of yourselves and we pray that you will be home soon.

Thanks Nan, I am feeling really good now, on the road to recovery :-) Was in the hospital last week. Had a very serious kidney infection (that's how the good doctor described it) Thank God for antibiotics and good doctors! Had to be on an IV antibiotic drip for 4 days.

Hi, Colleen - thank you. We really love the Hill Country - so peaceful, and the Guadelupe River where we stay is just beautiful and crystal clear. Canoeing and paddle-boating up and down the river lots of fun - no motor boats allowed! :)

Hi, Temple - yes, that flag gets to me. I don't know what size it is, but that hill is probably 40 - 50 feet high, and the flag just looks so majestic up there!

From the hot, sandy desert of Kuwait, a soldier e-mails a need for God's blessings

I AM A MEMBER of the Iowa Army National Guard on assignment in Kuwait as part of Operation
Enduring/Iraqi Freedom. My unit, a medical unit, Co. A. 109th ASMB, was.m6bilized on 24 February 2003 and ordered to the region.

"Like many of the soldiers in my unit and my fellow service members, I am having difficulties. We miss our families and loved ones, and many of us just want to go home. Also, we are uncertain as to what needs to be done here and who will be doing it. All of this takes its toll on our daily lives.

"As a Christian, I believe in the word of God and in the power of prayer. Please pray for us. Ask God to give us strength, perseverance, and protection from evil. Also, please pray that in times of doubt, discomfort, and trouble, that He will guide us.

"Thank you for your prayers. I have read, and continue to read, the works of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. I am thankful for such positive and affirming messages that strengthen my faith. Again, I would like to express my appreciation for what you do and the help you provide to the lives of people like me all over the world."
