Bet he wasn't really a journalist. It's an excellent cover for covert ops.

Will Rodgers or William Shakespeare never met a journalist or they would not have made their most famous quotes.

Perhaps they should stop pointing things with round apertures at everything. It's still a hostile place and he should have walked up closer WITH the camera, announced his intetions to everyone he was filming and THEN lifted up the camera.

The really great thing about this is that, no matter how many Reuters people go on to the paradise where all get 97 pulitzers and everything they invent gets printed on the front page, the Reuters coverage can't get any more biased or anti-American.

"US Troops Shoot Dead Second Palestinian Journalist in Iraq"Well, it's a start, but, at this rate, it will be well into the next millenium before they get them all.

Don't US forces have some kind of laser system that detects optics being pointed at them? I have a vague memory that such a system exists.
Too bad about the journalist, but setting something on your shoulder at night and pointing it at a tank in a war zone is somewhat...ill-advised.

You got it. Things on a shoulder pointed at our troops is not going to go over so don't do it. Any questions?

He was awarded an International Press Freedom Award in 2001 by the Committee to Protect Journalists for his work in Hebron where he was wounded and beaten many timesHe was no stranger to sticking his neck out or his nose into dangerous places. It is a war zone, a roll of the dice.

But... but...
I thought "international" journalists were invulnerable!
Ya mean bad people actually use journalism as a cover?
I'm shocked and dismayed!
Whatever happened to rules?

Don't US forces have some kind of laser system that detects optics being pointed at them? Most weapons have optics aids.
What's your point?

He had a dangerous job in a dangerous place, stuff happens. Palestinian, Reuters and pointing something at a tank...sounds like 'shoot me, shoot me, shoot me'.

Did you misread me? I mean a way to detect if optics are aimed at you, detecting reflections using a sweeping laser or something like that.
My point is that such a system could easily mistake a camera for a sighting device.

When are they going to get Fisk? When they do, put him in an Israel army uniform and drop him into Ramallah.
