A better life, but not in U.S. - Economists say growing number of immigrants leaving America

I like the sales tax replacing the income tax. Sales tax increases prices for all goods including imports. Removing the income tax increases after tax income without increasing business expenses. The net result is a tariff on imports. Putting a real tariff invites retaliation. Moving to a sales tax does the same, but avoids the gatt and wto problems.

I don't have to ... I know they are largely foreign-born Chinese and Indians, over here for "the economic benefits." And if they want to go back to their Asian paradises for better "economic benefits," they are welcome to leave. There are Americans who can do those jobs - the same Americans who did the jobs before the Asians came.

I guess my point is, there is a lot to america that is home grown and not very attractive. I personally find the mainstream latinos a whole lot more attractive than the drug, MTV, hip hop, slacker, political, black inner city cultures in america.

I think most japanese are budhists and they seem family friendly and stable. I do agree that christian western culture seems to be a good one too.

I deal with lots of people who do just enough to get by and no more. I could never live like that but I bear no ill feelings toward them.

I do bear ill feelings toward them, because they dislike the fact that I have achieved more. Plus, a lot of them want subsidies and pay no income tax. Give me a flat tax, end subsidies for the poor that I pay for and get the underclass to lose their jealousy, then I will not bear ill feelings either.

Look, you can throw your stupid, demeaning comments around all you want, but it doesn't change the reality.

The fact is migrants move to where the opportunity is - those that are looking for the opportunity to leech are very adept at finding socialist nations to leech off of, while those that are looking for the opportunity to be rewarded for hard work and innovation are able to find an appropriate place to invest in their dreams.

We conservatives for a long time have been bitching that this nation that we love so dearly is moving away from its capitalistic roots towards the socialistic systems that we despise so greatly.

For you to insinuate that a smart individual leaving is a good thing and that another individual (me) who notes that an intelligent & innovative individual has left should also leave is in my opinion idiotic.

If nothing else, this article serves as evidence that our economic views are correct. When this country fully embraced its capitalistic system, there weren't enough visas for those seeking an opportunity to build wealth. Now, there aren't enough visas for those seeking to leech, while some, if not many, of those who are enterprising are leaving. And to you, for some insanse reason, this is a good thing!?! Unbelievable...

Many foreign nationals no longer view America as the land of opportunity. Economists, businesspeople and other experts say growing numbers of immigrants are moving back to their home countries of Pakistan, India, China, Singapore and Vietnam -- countries with job and economic growth sometimes double or triple that of the United States.

Hmmm .. ok, well on one hand there are the Commies and then there is Pakistan and India who are threatening to nuke each other about once a month .. oh and then there are the hot spots of terrorist camps to deal with
