When the hostage-taking incident reached her attention, Marikina City Mayor Maria Lourdes Fernando called up Rojas ordering him to resolve the incident peacefully.Idiot!!!
Why didn't this idiotic "mayor" order the hostage-taker to resolve the incident peacefully?
It's a shame she wasn't available during World War II, she could have "ordered" the British to resolve the incident with Germany peacefully.

The sovereign, once he orders war, does not give the general any more orders; in peace the sovereign rules; in war, the general is the sovereign. -
Sun-Tzu, "The Art of War"
The mayor has no business giving orders for a "peaceful outcome". The mayor has zero authority over law enforcement, that is the job of the police.

I love a happy ending. Dead drug addict not preying on society, and a girl who will hopefully recover fully.

Maybe the Philippine education system uses a different grade numbering system?

Agreed. Nothing better than a violent criminal who is DRT -- Dead, RIGHT THERE.

Rojas said blood was oozing from the chest of the victim, Jennifer Ricarto, a Grade 4 pupil of the San Mateo elementary school, when a SWAT member opened fire. The suspect had two knives, which he kept pressing on the chest of the suspect. The suspect sustained gunshot wounds in the head and chest and was declared dead on arrival at the Amang Rodriguez Medical Center.
OK, definitely hire this shooter for our war on terror right the heck now. I'd be inclined to hire the whole squad, based on this report as well. These are the good guys, from what's posted here.

He then dragged Ricarto to a waiting shed in Lower Balete street Wow, lucky for him the shed was waiting. I hate when my shed gets up and leaves.

Funny... But in the Philippines a waiting shed is another term for a bus stop...
