I SWEAR I did my post before I read yours!! But ain't it the TRUTH...it's Abe Foxman's JOB to keep Christians and Jews apart and distrusting each other. Thanks Abe....what a good job he's doing.

We already know that the story is partially false: the allegation that Mel belongs to a cult. That has never been seen before, and I am not certain it is true.

I heard that innacurate details like the cross being made inside the Temple. That is an allegation, unsubstantiated, made by the "experts" who stole an early version of the script--not knowing what parts would be used and what would be trashed.
Since the "experts" are well-known heretical activists and anti-religious fanatics, how can you believe what they allege???

I wouldnt want to have to sit through it with a bunch of ADL types and fellow travelers having to put up with their cat calls...But it might be fun walking past the demonstrators outside and accidentally pissing on their shoes.

Any Italians complaining about the portrayal of Pontius Pilate and the Romans? What's to complain about?
PP and the Romans were in charge, lived la dolce vita, and had the fastest horses.

I would be skeptical about claims that he's changing, or softening the movie. I believe you are right, as ususal, my most gracious, humble and obedient!
After rereading (between the lines) what it "seems" he has "done," to the movie, I think all this rubbish is all "much ado about nothing."
I'll freepmail you later this weekend. More might be happening on the "laptop computer" front, if you know what I mean! /giggle!

Maybe the medieval marble modifier will be known as the Mel Gibson of ceiling painters? Hmmmm....I woudn't mind having Mel painted on my ceiling...
...or for that matter, anywhere else!

I'm depressed and disappointed. I thought Mel had the stones to stand up to the ADL blackmail. Yeah, me to. That was a quick capitulation. And this doesn't set a good precedent.

When it is released, I predict this film will be a cinematic phenomenon--unlike any other movie in history. Since it requires no dubbing, it will be shown all around the world and feel just as authentic in the Philipines and in Brazil as it feels when we watch it here. Countless millions of Christians will see it--and will also keep on seeing it in the years ahead until it won't be possible to hear the Gospel on Palm Sunday without thinking of the images it evokes. This is the real blow to the ADL and to Hollywood--Mel Gibson has created a Christian Masterpiece. I agree.

...I haven't been to a movie in ten years. I don't get excited over ANY movie.......a sad but not unexpected admission. You need to get your smile back, dude. May I recommend Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, on DVD? Cheers, By

Really?
Your delivery sounds... so cold, so dispassionate. So Sinkspur.
But I am scoring this one as progress, and will keep working to draw you out of your shell. Yours, Benevolent By

I don't want my movies "historically accurate". That's impossible to begin with, Bible or no Bible. You wanna tell fiction, told me a famous film director a long long time ago, go in documentary filmmaking. You wanna tell the truth, he said, go into fiction (i.e. feature) filmmaking. (No quote marks because I can't quote his exact words.)
I want my films artistically accurate and Gibson's caving in to pressure groups or the critics or some focus groups, or whatever, is enough to take this title off my "must see" list. Let the "targeted demographics" pay to see the trash! Pathetic, contemptible!

You have more patience than most. I have given up on this annoying, pasty-faced undertaker a long time ago. He is a troll depositing negativity in the form of personal attacks whenever he feels he can get a lick in and revels in the counter-attacks leveled at him. One might imagine from his behavior that he is a masochist.
How this sad entity spent his time before there was an internet one can only imagine...
