Galileo, Copernicus, Pascal, and Napier were all orthodox and serious Christians. Too bad no one told the Pope that Galileo was orthodox.

Excellent read.
The truth is that Christians are now the despised people , the only ones fit for humor and slimy art
Those of us that call the name of Christ know that it was not the Jews that crucified Christ it was our sin that put him there. I do believe that was why God had Roman as well as Jewish players in the crucifixion
I am waiting the Mel Gibson film. He usually has a spiritual bent to his films (like the space one a couple years ago). So I know this will be done for the Glory of God, not to condemn some men but to convict all of us of our sin

A depressing press release just on the wires from the ADL :
http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=126-08132003
Foxman is plastering letters on his website he has recieved to "prove" Mel's film is inciting hate.
Wonder if it ever occurs to him that Muslims or A.N.S.W.E.R. types might have written those letters to drive a wedge between Jews and their Christian supporters? Or that, in a country of nearly 300 million, you are going to get some people angry enough to write letters they should not when you are perceived as attacking their religion?

drive a wedge between Jews and their Christian supporters?
When it comes to Foxman and his supporters, there's no need to "drive a wedge" to separate them from Christians - - they already seem pretty anti-Christian to me.

you in particular should accuse those Jews who are trying to defend us from the depradations of Jew haters as anti-Christian.
Foxman isn't defending anyone from "haters," he's stoking unjustified suspicion and fear of Mel Gibson and the Christian Gospels that Gibson is, reportedly, trying to depict faithfully in his movie.
Yes, I do believe there is an anti-Christian animus in those who seem to be insisting that it's not allowed to depict the Gospels in the movies.
If the Gospels stoke "hate" of Jews, why is it that Israel's strongest American supporters are those who are the greatest adherants of the Gospels in their literal sense - ie evangelical Christians?

Read the Sword and the Shield; The Mitrokhin Archive? Fascinating accounts of how the Soviets used provocation in America. Among other mischief, they pretended to be Jewish Defense League and the Klu Klux Klan. They desecrated Jewish cemeteries and sent every black civil rights group in the country forged documents from the JDL. This went on for decades. There are people on both sides who still believe conservatives did it all...lol. Foxman is playing right into that sort of game. The anti-Israel left must be chortling over the ADL/Gibson brouhaha and , if not yet actively engaged in encouraging more animosity, surely thinking of how to exacerbate the situation.

I don't know much about Foxman, but what I do know, I don't like.
Remember how a book 'banned in Boston' would immediately soar to the top of the best seller list? Ditto for Mel's film!

Sound a lot more like you describing yourself, Larry. Especially regarding exacerbation.

"Secularism and Christianity cannot coexist. One has to exterminate the other. The world can be one or the other, not both."
First, this is an excellent article and quite refreshing as all truth is.
Second, secularism and Christianity have been coexisting some 2000 years now and when dictatorships arise to destroy Christians and/or Jews, the LORD has rose up and destroyed such nations. In my lifetime alone, both Germany and Russia have received the Lord's judgments, as have many other nations over the centuries, and yet the Body of Christ and Israel are still here and prospering by Jesus Christ.
And the end of the story can be searched out in the scriptures (hint: God will evangelize the whole world in due time and nothing and no one can or will stop Him.Bible prophecy is inerrant as is his word). And fascinating to also; you will love it if you read it.

So I know this will be done for the Glory of God, not to condemn some men but to convict all of us of our sin What simply amazes me is the amount of negative attention directed at this movie by people who have not seen it.
Growing up during the baby boom years, I recall going to the movies every year at Christmas or Easter to see some Hollywood "Bible" epic, oftentimes in Panavision.
'The Ten Commandments', 'The Robe', 'The Silver Chalice', 'Spartacus', 'The Gospel According To Matthew', 'Jesus Christ, Superstar' ..... .... I could go on and on. Where were the screaming heads then????? Yet now, in the year 2003, this is viewed as some sort of screed against the Jews!! I don't get it.

It was acceptable to say the name of Christ out loud then .
You know the devil hates this film , that is the reason for the reaction

Glad you liked it.Just up on the net tonight:
Council votes to keep prayer & pledge intact at council meeting Dorine Goss
Chino Valley Review
An estimated 50 to 60 Chino Valley residents showing their support for public prayer greeted council members and staff at last weeks town council meeting.
Men, women and children lined the entrance to town hall and positioned themselves along the drive on Road 1 West. They carried hand-drawn placards that said, Let them pray, The Majority has a voice, ACLU go home, and Pray good things happen.
Some were the same residents who have been showing their support for public prayer by picketing at the Chino Valley Senior Center since early last week.
In late July Chino Valley resident Doris Thompson complained to town officials that she objected to the senior center prayer, either spoken or silent, and to having to stand for the noon prayer. She quoted a portion of a letter that she received from the Arizona Civil Liberties Union that said it is likely that the prayer at the center violates the Supreme Court Rulings regarding First Amendment rights of individuals.
So the town asked seniors not to pray, but to pause for a moment of silence.
Florence Sloan, chairman of the Advisory Board for the Senior Center, said most of the seniors who eat lunch at the center would like to see the prayer right where it is, just as it is. She said seniors were devastated at the news and many had tears in their eyes . . .
ACLU out trolling for lawsuits at senior citizen centers now. How much lower can these people sink? What is next? Hospices? Banning chapels from Hospitals? Will they chisel crosses off monuments in public cemeteries?

Defiance is the only way to deal with the ACLU. They're anti-American and funded by left-wing radicals.

George Soros is a big ACLU donor. This is the first I've heard of ACLU gnomes picking on the elderly. Imagine how upsetting it must be for someone 80 to hear from the ACLU they can't pray. O'Reilly had the governor of Colorado on tonight--ACLU is suing to block kids from saying the pledge. Hope O'Reilly hears the twisted, sick ACLU gnomes are now attacking our elderly parents.

Soros. His name keeps cropping-up in all the anti-American, anti-GOP and anti-Christian organizations.
He's a dangerous enemy, because of his money.

We have reached a state where citizens are abused every day by those who hate this country. Slowly our rights are being eaten away by those who fund the ACLU and other anti-American groups.
Hopefully Soros' influence will be overcome and the 13 states he has targeted will vote Republican. This will be the first step in reclaiming our country. The next step will be to get rid of Democratic judges who deny their responsibility to protect us.
