I sense a bit of resentment toward physicians here.

What do you mean by 'no better than'? In the grand scheme of things, I don't think they are. Looking at your comparison list, they hold a social position higher than most of those roles. But that's it - higher social position. I guess if one values that than physicians are better than sierra club employees.

Funny you compare them to trial lawyers - their are plenty of physicians who are expert witnesses for trial lawyers.
