Apparently, this will be the next "trick" that might be used to stop Mel Gibson's new movie "The Passion" from being seen widely is the rating system (my analysis).

I would think that any realistic portrayal of the crucifixion would get an NC-17 rating. It will not prevent me from seeing it.

Let me correct this sentence: "Apparently, the next "trick" that might be used to stop Mel Gibson's new movie "The Passion" from being seen widely is the rating system (my analysis).

It can't be much more violent than Braveheart or Gladiator. Anyways I can't wait to see it.

'Henry and June' did pretty well financially for having an NC-17, and got an Oscar nomination for cinematography.

I have this funny feeling that the film will do very well and might even be required viewing in all Christian religious arenas. Spit in their eyes, Mel Gibson!

Oh, and come to think of it, so did "Evil Dead" and "Man Bites Dog".

The "trick" won't work
Too many people just can't wait to see it
When is it due to be in the theaters?

I was thinking the same thing. An accurate depiction of what happened to Christ would not be G-rated.

I think they should gvie it an NJ rating.

[NJ] Non-Jewish.

My patience is wearing mighty thin with this faction, who puts out the most stupid and foul crap all over the movies and TV.

PS: I am not a Christian.

Hollywood will do everything in it's power to kill this film. Do not be surprised when it receives worse reviews than "Gigli".

Tempest in a teapot. I'm sure they can and will avoid the NC-17 rating.

The more they attempt to hamper this movie the more Christian Americans are going to wonder why. From what I've read about the film it is an accurate portrayal of the scripture.

Hmmm, what is the highest grossing NC-17 movie to date? I'd think this has a chance of surpassing that record.

I don't care if they give it an XXXXXXXXX rating. We'll be there when the doors open.

And maybe it would be a good thing for children to witness some RELEVANT violence for a change!

Hmmm, what is the highest grossing NC-17 movie to date?

The excruciating 'Showgirls', at $27 million.

Absolutely. I remember hearing a description what happened to the body during crucifixion on Focus on the Family several years ago. Hideous, it was the worst form of death.

Thank you, Lord, for enduring it for us.
