Dangit. Guess I'll take my laptop and go home now.

You are correct. I liked the Basilone exit going out so I could avoid the check point on I-5. I just was trying to point out that if one goes out the Christianiitos gate, you are really closer to Capistrano than one might realize. Your geography lesson is appreciated.

Sounds like it's time for what in the old days the Navy used to call "Dungaree Liberty." I bet most of the guys at Camp Pendelton would like a little payback. I suspect they will get a little help this weekend.

Source: personal observation. I work in DC and see Marines every day wearing BDU's everywhere. I'll be glad when ALL Marines are wearing the same ones; right now, half are in the old style (same as Army BDU's) and half are in their new "computer generated" camo pattern.
FWIW, I've also recently been seeing pilots (on the train to work) wearing flight suits, which I also thought was a no-no. Especially strange since they're going to the Pentagon and presumably won't even be flying that day!

Thread title is misleading, San Jaun Capistrano is in Orange County not San Diego County.

Oh, let's play "ask two questions":
#1. What are the first two words in the article? I'll give you two hints: they are in nice big CAPS, so you can't miss them, and it also names a city in Southern California (no fair peeking at a map!) You get three guesses.
When you are done there, then on to
#2. Why did I put (IN PARENTHESIS) in the thread title where the article stated the incident took place (refer back to question #1 for the answer, if you got that one correct). You get 20 guesses for question #2.
If you are able to answer these tough questions, you will almost assuredly figure out the difference in the thread title.
All whinners will recieve an all expense paid trip to Claifornia's Whine and Cheese Country, just north of Napa Valley! Good luck!

Look, I am really being unfair. Apparently you aren't the only one to not be able to figure this out, although I had several - lots - of people send me messages asking how someone could be so dumb as to not understand why "San Diego" is in the thread title. So, here....let me help clear up any confusion so no one loses sleep over this anymore.
The article says it took place in San Diego. I put San Diego (in parenthesis) in the title so someone looking at it on the FR Sidebar would be able to know that this didn't take place in Iraq.
So many others figured it out. Maybe I should have made it clearer.
To: Admin Moderator
It is causing too much confusion as to where this took place? I added the locale in the title so as not to make someone think it was in Iraq.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
I knew why you did put SD in the title, but I figured that I would give you the opportunity to re-evaluate your choice and get the admin moderator to fix it. That said, I don't think any real harm was done (that's why I addressed you instead of the admin monderator.)
BTW, you need to not assume that all comments are flames, that require sarcastic responses. FRiendly fire only reduces your troops' effectiveness and morale. :)
