The CIA is good, let there be no doubt, but they are not the top and they are reliant, now more than ever, on intelligence from other countries. Why? Because Clinton refused to allow them to participate in dirty espionage, the most useful type of spying available. Most of what we know is coming from other countries, not intelligence we gleened first hand. That is why we got caught short in India, Pakistan, North Korea, and, particularly, on 9/11. So if you are going to complain about the lack of correct intelligence, particularly when it is coming from friendly countries, then BITCH AT CLINTON. He's the one who gutted the intelligence community!
It took the UN years to find all the stuff listed above. Iraq had 5 years to hide their stuff since we last went there for any extended period of time. But even recently, we discovered 151 warheads they claimed they didn't have, which were in violation of the cease fire agreement!
Moreoever, if you look at the pattern of hiding detailed from our previous 6 years of inspections, entire complexes were HIDDEN UNDERGROUND. The vast majority of our satellites cannot see UNDERGROUND. I have every confidence that the WMD have been moved to a facility the UN doesn't even know exists.
It was not until the deaths of Saddam's sons that Iraqi felt reasonably sure that Saddam would not return to power. Finally, at long last, the flood of information we hoped for is coming in. May just discovered thousands upon thousands of pages of documents that still need to be reviewed. Do you appreciate the complexity of the task at hand?
Bush had just cause to eliminate Saddam, under the terms of the cease-fire, Resolution 1154, and Saddam's known and proven sponsorship of terrorist organizations (PLO of AA has been on the terrorist books for years).
Saddam's past history of WMD procurement and production was only an added impetus, particularly if our friends and sources were warning us that he was restarting his programs again or had achieved a dangerous level of success.
Amazing, it is not, that in 1998, Democrats wholly supported concurrent resolutions #54, 71, and 78, which recognized Saddam's threat to American National Security, called for his removal, acknowledged his WMD programmes, etc., but suddenly are claiming he's just a pussycat now?
RNC talking points? No, my friend, someone is spouting DNC talking points in your ear. Facts are pesky things, and all of the above are FACTS.
Sorry, I thought I was being factual and straight forward.
LOL.
If one of these guys starts to look like he can win in 2004, I think I'm going to start constructing a bunker to live in for four years.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to find that gambling is going on in here!
