You are correct. If investigations go far enough, look for this to be the link to WMD or bioweapons that has been the source of debate between the

(good/evil)
(Dems/Repubs)
(those in power/those not in power)
(US/everywhere else)

They should look for a poison derived from animal/reptile venom, which dissolves the internal organs of it's victims, to prepare them for consumption. Monitor lizards have a similar poison.

Wasnt there a story a few months ago about terrorists in Kuwait that were working as caterors for food for the military and were planning on poisoning them. Are any of our soldiers in Iraq eating food that was brought in from local civilian sources.

I wouldn't accept any food from the locals.
To: shaggy eel
nope. Doesn't affect the organs in that manner. It's not unlike lead poisoning.

"I would want to trace the whereabouts of all those who are sick now. "

Looks like the military is taking this seriously and are doing just that.
"U.S. Army Surgeon General Lt. Gen. James Peake has ordered teams of medical experts and epidemiology specialists to retrace the soldiers' steps from the second they set foot in the Middle East. "

I wonder if we are beginning to see bin Laden's 'surprise' for the Americans that was announced in his recent All Jazzera airing? Binny wouldn't care if he killed all of Iraq, if he got thousands of American Soldiers.

,,, depleted uranium? There is no scientific evidence supporting DU as a health hazard. The health effects of uranium have been studied & studied, to include after the Gulf War and after DU use in the Balkans. No adverse effects could be attributed to DU nor was there any abnormal incidence of unexplained health problems associated with the use of DU.
BTW, DU rounds were used less in this conflict than in the past as our tankers found it more advantageous to carry high explosive at the ready since most of their targets were in thin skinned or lightly armored vehicles and bunkers or buildings. HE works better against those type targets versus DU "sabot" rounds which are designed to simply punch a hole in a target--they do not explode.

There is no scientific evidence supporting DU as a health hazard.,,, whose research? I think what you're saying is that there is no such evidence available to the public. I guess we've all heard the same line about agent orange and tobacco over the years, so maybe it's best DU is put thru the hoops. I don't think shells were coated in it to assist with cutting the air better.

if he's vomiting, he could be dehydrated. Take him to the local ER.
Even plain old stomach flu can kill you if you get dehydrated...

The only way depleted uranium could hurt anyone (other than hitting them directly, of course) is by radioactivity, which can be measured, and it was found to be totally minimum. People work in labs with much higher radiation and suffer no ill effects. You have to be exposed to high radiation or at least moderate amounts for a very long time, to suffer any ill effects.
To: shaggy eel
whose research?Every scientific study. Do a google search. Go to primary sources, not what some "activist" says.
Now, if you're one of those conspiro-monkeys who believes that various scientests, researchers, and doctors from assorted countries over the past couple dozen years have all gotten together to violate their ethics and their oaths in order to mis-report or hide the ill effects of DU--then I know I sure won't persuade you otherwise.

,,, me, a conspiro-monkey? There's no tax breaks in that game, so...
Which particular website convinced you that there was no risk from depleted uranium? Are shells just coated in it in a vague hope and a prayer?

To: shaggy eel
Are shells just coated in it in a vague hope and a prayer?Shells are not "coated" in it. A depleted uranium munition is simply a rod, called a penetrator, fired at extremely high velocity that because of its hardness and weight/density punches holes through armor (or anything else in its way!).
Check out this link. It is a Department of Defense link, but for those who believe the higher ranks in the military would willingly use ammunition that would poison their own people and therefore do not trust that site, there is a series of links at that site you can follow to various studies. As you will see, even the report commissioned by the EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT found no adverse health effects.
