Our adopted Marine is coming for dinner tomorrow. He is complaining of insomnia and inability to hold down food.

Thought you'd be interested. We were wondering on the thread about the one soldier who died of some "mysterious illness", whether there are any more, unfortunately, looks like there are.

"He is complaining of insomnia and inability to hold down food. "

I hope it's just a result of the long hard duty in the heat and sand. But if it persists, encourage him to see a military doctor, who hopefully has more info about this mystery illness so they can rule it out.

Not good. God bless them all.
One has to be suspicious of "mystery" illnesses striking healthy GI's in Iraq that defy diagnosis.

"Bio weapon??"
---
Could be they came across one of the places Saddam buried his bioweapons.
"The Army Surgeon General confirmed that three or four of the soldier's in Josh's unit are among those who got sick," Sen. Ike Skelton told the Lake Sun Tuesday.

I thought Q Fever is incapacitating, but not deadly.

My 22 year old son has insomnia and can't keep any food or liquid down, 24 hours now. He is not a soldier and has not been out of the country. I have never seen him this sick. All these articles are really scaring me. he has a high temp. too.

Neusche's family could not afford to make the trip to Germany and was told he was in a coma, dying of a flu-like ailment. This pisses me off more than I can describe. Billions of our tax dollars are being squandered on services for illegal immigrants and our homegrown deadbeat welfare addicts, but there's no government funding available to get a dying soldier's next of kin to his side. I want a new government!

I suggest you take him to the doctor right away and have them start running some tests. Could it be West Nile?
But in any case, don't let the doctor send him home with aspirin, have them do a battery of tests. Any disease diagnosed early has a better chance of being treated successfully.
