You are far more liberal or libertarian than me.
True conservatives don't label entire groups based on irrational fear or because they don't like something. That's why I think liberals belong with the Democrats in the party of hate. They claim to be inclusive by in fact pointing out the differences between people. That's something that liberals and you, my lavender challenged friend, are confusing conservativism with hate and bigotry.

But wait a minute, science-boy! Identical twins are genetically um, identical, right? That means that they are genetically THE SAME PERSON. If homosexuality was biologically determined, then the correlation should be approximately 100%. Anything substantially less disproves the Biologically Determined theory.
Nice try.
But our Vet doesn't know what genetics means. He has some inpervious gay propaganda so all that science stuff doesn't matter. Anyone who refutes the born-gay propaganda with actual science can only be a Christian hatemonger.

Before I worry about what gays do in their bedrooms, I will worry about the many Christians who are having premarital sex, shacking up with their girlfriends, divorcing and remarrying, committing adultery, etc. The majority of sexual sin in this country is done by straight people, not gays.
Well, where I live in out here in flyover country, there have been less than ten cases of adultery in the entire county over the last thirty years.
So, if you're willing to impose that on all the sodomites and the "Christians" in your area as a standard for decency, that would be fine with me.
But I think maybe you wouldn't really want to do that either, would you?
Frankly, I have to wonder where you live that Christians behave like that. Obviously, some degraded metropolitan area.

finnman69 is a New Yorker. I think I recall sakic saying the same a long time back.
Maybe we should expect FReepers from states like New York to RINO, if even that. I've noticed some of the most liberal posters on FR come from there. Even California has more conservative FReepers in it.
RnMom, on the other hand, is a very conservative New Yorker, perhaps the exception that proves the rule. But she lives upstate.

"Frankly, I have to wonder where you live that Christians behave like that."I guess for the next 1000 years, people will use Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart as THE metaphor for "hypocritical Christians."

You are showing your age. You are very young.
When I had sex ed, we really had the basics: human biology. We didn't talk about birth control or STDs and certainly not homosexuality.
I think human biology should be taught, but everything else should be left up to the parent.

Viewing the state of America today from the moving platform of "somethings are better and some things are worse" gets you nowhere. That is like shooting at a moving target from a moving platform. In order to judge the status of this country, you must define standards, static standards, from which you judge the state of the state.
While I agree with you that some things get better while some things get worse, that has nothing to do with appraising the overall direction this country is headed. I maintain that it is in a state of decline for a number of reasons -- not the least of which is the expansion of the size of government coupled with the diminished value of "liberty" and "freedom" among the citizens.
While I'm generally an optimist in my outlook, I see decadence becomming the norm in this country -- a bad trendline with predictable outcomes.

Well, where I live in out here in flyover country, there have been less than ten cases of adultery in the entire county over the last thirty years. Well, where I live in a large metropolitan area, there have been less than zero cases of adultery in the entire county over the last thirty years.
Are you saying that the failure of the authorities to prosecute adultery, fornication, masturbation, pornography, and sodomy means that those activities are not happening?
To: george wythe
Never mind. I think you missed the point. Deliberately, I assume.

This thread is so old that I have no idea to which of my comments you were responding with your vacuous rant, since you failed to quote me at all.
That's why I quoted you and asked you a follow-up question as a courtesy, in case you had anything meaningful to add.
At any rate, I'm not interested in discussing anything with you, so good bye!

How did so many Homo-supporters get on Free Republic??? Or shall I say WELCOME, DU TROLLS AND LEFT WING RADICALS, TO THE WEBSITE THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE!!
I bet FR has had a RECORD number of new registrations in the last few days.......
Encourge you homosexual friends to leave that destructive lifestyle, like so many others have done. There is noting GAY about high rates of disease, depression, suicide and early death.

Encourge you homosexual friends to leave that destructive lifestyle, like so many others have done. Thank you for your lovely suggestion.
Unfortunately, Im too busy right now encouraging my heterosexual friends to leave their destructive lifestyle:
Masturbation
Pornography
Fornication
Shacking up with their girlfriends
Adultery
Divorce and Re-marriage
After Im finished with my hundreds of heterosexual friends, I will deal with two or three acquaintances who might be homosexual

Your most recent. As the "To 791" made obvious. I assume you're playing stupid and trying to blame me but you did hit Reply on it, didn't you?
At any rate, I'm not interested in discussing anything with you, so good bye!
So, you post a reply to me, referring to my post, and then within the course of a half-hour, you decide you don't know what post you had replying to and flee, trying to blame me.
Fine with me. Your comments and conduct speak for themselves.

My goodness, you're quite a missionary. Or so you would have us to believe.

The Great American Cultural Machine based in Hollywood has for decades promoted a wide variety of destructive sexual behaviors - including adultery, homosexuality, divorce and "shacking up". Virtually all social conservatives I know of are EQUALLY against all these behaviors. When my kids were small I wouldn't rent movies that portrayed in a positive light ANY of these behaviors. Homosexuality is no more and no less socially destructive than adultery as far as I am concerned. I didn't then and don't now distinguish between any of those behaviors as far as which is worse than the others. (And how in the heck did you get "masturbation" into that list???)
The reason you see so much debate about homosexuality as compared to the other sexually deviant behaviors is NOT due to social conservatives singling out that behavior apart from the others. Rather, it's because it's the only one of those behaviors that has large, powerful, well-funded activist organizations continually trying to pass new laws to force their "morality" via legal sanctions on the rest of us.
If there were also politically powerful and/or culturally powerful lobbies advocating laws to make it a hate crime to disagree with adultery or shacking up or polygamy or whatever other Cause Du Jour might be pushed on us tomorrow by Liberals and Libertarians who want to steadily take away our freedoms, I would just as strongly oppose those initiatives as well.
I don't want to see my kids someday choosing a heterosexual over a homosexual to share their rental apartment and as a result being hauled into court to face whopping fines, threats of jailtime and mandatory, state-run brainwashing / propaganda Re-education Camps that are euphemistically known as "Sensitivity Training". So I have and will continue to be politically active with my $$$ and my volunteer time to resist ordinances at any level of government that will take away mine and my childrens' freedom.

I assume you're playing stupid and trying to blame me but you did hit Reply on it, didn't you? I think some people have no class, and you seem to confuse politeness with weakness.
Remember when you falsely accused me of posting spam on Freerepublic.com because I excerpted an article from a litigious news source?
Did you apologized for your stupid behavior, even though all you had to do was to read the Freerepublic.com homepage?
I was a newbie, and I remember your obnoxious and stupid comments.
So please, from now on, refrain from posting your vacuous, uninformed and illogical rants to me

There are only two truly litigious news sources here at FR. No actions have ever been filed on the behalf of the conglomerates, only of the two flagship operations.
Your excerpted article was a waste of bandwidth and probably blocked someone else from posting the full article.
