The stars have also praised Castro's economic system. Comedian Chevy Chase, at Earth Day 2000 in Washington D.C., said he believes "socialism works" and explained that "Cuba might prove that." Chase added, "I think it's conclusive that there have been areas where socialism has helped to keep people at least stabilized at a certain level."

He may give socialism lip-service but he keeps the money he makes from his acting. He IS a capitalist. :-D

There's not. Unlss someone apparently wants to make one out of it. A Turkish company saw he was apparently popular over there, enough to sell their product. They engaged in a capitalistic venture to hire him to sell their product. Nuff said

It's not that he can afford socialism. It's that he knows that as long as rich and privileged liberals give LIP service to socialism, they will never really be required to live it.
The tax code as written shelters nearly all PROPERTY. It taxes only income. True socialism would take Chase's PROPERTY away from him and distribute it to others. That is not something he really supports. He's fine with income being taken, as he has many people working for him whose job it is to reduce the bite on HIM to negligible limits. Those of us without a staff of attorneys, on the other hand, must muddle through.
So you see, he's not really a socialist, and making this ad is a blatant and public act of support for global capitalism. He's not even a hypocrite in the true sense of the word, unless all conservatives who ever took a federal handout are too. He's playing the game the way it is played in Hollywood where there are things you say to get jobs and media attention.

Right. And all that really matters is who he votes for or donates to. If he votes for big government then we know it is no longer lip service.

Big government very effectively protects the interests of rich white liberals.
And together they keep poor liberals totally hoodwinked.

I just think they're a bit silly that's all, I agree the soda with real sugar is 10 times better, I had it in the DR.
If they don't use sugar, what do they use?

I have friends who are part of it without really understanding that they are.
Most libs do not understand that if they got their way, everything they care about would be ruined and lost.

Outside of the US. I had one in the Dominican Republic. It depends upon where they are bottled. It just isn't as sweet. I thought it tasted different and rthen I saw taht it was made with sugar. I liked it better by week's end (I refused to drink the water).
