One thing the video doesn't mention is that it is a common Muslim belief that upon death, the soul sits in a limbo awaiting Judgment Day at the end of time to know whether its virtues will outweigh its sins -- whether it will go to Paradise or to Hell.

That is, unless you die as a martyr! Martyrs bypass the waiting room, go through the express check-out lane, and are ushered immediately into Paradise, any and all sins ignored. (And, they can bring along their family.)

These imams exploit this "carte blanche" Judgment-free martyrdom when they preach to the preens and teens, who already have a natural fascination with death and anxiety.

The typical Thug was, apart from from the murders he committed, a good citizen and model husband devoted to his family. Yet they made travel in India difficult for over three hundred years.

Have you ever heard of the Thugee Cult? If they somehow made a resurgence here, would you want them banned, or at least watched? I think hypertolerance can get us killed. What started as a serious religious attitude later became a method of personal gain for the unscrupulous. The cult was especially active during early Victorian days in India although the British tried their best to suppress the murderous side of it.

Kali stands for energy, both creative and destructive. Her cult is linked to Tantric practices (which aim to enable men to rise above their sexual nature by gaining full control over themselves). In her positive aspect Kali is named Durga, Kumari or Parvati. The city of Calcutta was named after her.

I suppose fundamentalist cultists gravitate toward the view that the world is evil and death is sublime because their personal lives are so unhappy and unsuccessful.

Yes, but comparing the iSLAMothugs to Christians, Buddhists and others is not quite fair. For only the iSLAMists believe you get an automatic ticket to heaven for murdering innocent women and children.

As to torturing the body and self immolation: the Catholic church teaches that self mutilation is a mortal sin. However mortification of the body is a means toward gaining self control. Many religions and even some non religious people fast or lift weights or run or engage in various disciplines of rational self deprivation in order to subjugate the desires to the will rather than being ruled by base animal desires. There is nothing wrong with this. It is better for everyone concerned when a man is in control of himself and his desires. Don't you think?
