Can we get back to building a conservative coalition by calling them all malcontents and unappeasables now?Sure, but a coalition requires that folks concentrate on similarities more than differences. The presence of a common enemy around here would help, but arranging for that is way beyond my pay grade. ;-)

Most people don't realize that to get a bill passed that is of vital importance at the last minute an ammendment cant be attached to it. The President can be in a quandry. Do I sign it as it is of vital importance, or do I veto it and get nothing. Leadership in a demoracy is all about compormise in most cases. We have a two party system that President Washington knew could only be abhorred.

I told my sister, who lives in the midwest, when she said so many people had voted for Ross Perot, that they just put Clinton in the White House. Some people just vote emotionally and don't THINK.

The trouble is that most people in this country want solutions OVERNIGHT!! Just let them ask themselves how many YEARS did it take to get here. It was the sainted JFK, whose best gift to the democrat party was the opening of immigration to third world countries. Why do people think we have so many Muslims? Immigrants evidently no longer must have a sponser to see that they don't go on welfare. People from the Asian countries, as a whole are very industrious. Clinton let over a million immigrants into the country to become instant citizens so they could vote. Where was the hue and cry? Remember we barely have a majority in the senate, and at least two of them are only nominal Republicans. The President CAN NOT do it alone. WAke up people.

I'm sorry I got to this thread so late, but you have done a fantastic job rebutting the Paleos. I very much enjoyed reading this post and the "The American President" on your homepage.
You are an excellent writer and I'm proud you are an American, a Republican, and a Freeper. I wish I was a quick on my feet when it comes to the weird and twisted philosophy of the "I got my Freedom screw the rest of the world" Paleos.

Ive spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I dont know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. I have my suspicions about whether Joe is a racist, but I know for a fact he is a ineffectual liar.

Your appeasement approach is not strategy it is avoidance, delay and deferment. It has been proven a failure throughout history. Wow! You have a short memory. This strategery was used succesfully less than 4 months ago. The path of least resistence was used to get us to to Bagdad in a week. In fact, They underestimated how sucessfully it would work. Remember when they had to slow down the push to Bagdad because the supply lines could not be fortified as quickly as the advance.

LOL - I was quite, ummmm...bloated when the picture was taken, hence the "puff". (But I
am in the music business, so I suppose I should just go with it.)
I had to post a dramatically cropped picture so I could be like uber-environmentalist "Iron [Don't Litter or I'll Cry] Eyes Cody" (who, by the way, insisted he was an American Indian his entire life, even after his sister busted him).
