The only memorable moment for me from the multi-party debates was when ADM Stockdale did his thing. Perot ran because he hated Bush 41, and never wanted to be President, as he said several times. Any media support of Nader backfired on them and their Democrat Party. I don't want to watch 10 or 20 or however many parties there are debating several times per election. Those other countries with multiple parties don't seem to be outstanding in any way.

I think you underestimate the media. They're not stupid, and it seems they knew exactly what they were doing. They were trying to push the "center" leftward, and it looks to me like they've succeeded.

And I don't think you'll have to worry about "10 or 20" parties jockeying for position. I don't think our political system is designed to handle that. I think the most you'll see is what we've seen in the past, namely an occasional third party coming along, injecting some new perspectives, and then disappearing as the two main parties take the ball and run with it.

That's the status quo.

The Leftist media's job was the help elect Gore and Liberals in '92 and Liberals in 2000. They didn't do too well. If that's successfully moving the center to the left, then the Dems are in serious trouble.

William Jefferson Criminal turned Monica on his head infuriating many freedom lovers. Try again when you retire George. After the Dubya re-election would be a good time.

You got it! Theye were nasty to the Legend then as they are to Bush now.It pays DC conservatives very well to loathe big government from the comfort of wood panelled studies in leafy suburbs called Chevey Chase or Bethesda.Oh the horror!

OK. I *MAY* I have rooted out the post you were pointing me to. Among the dozens of replies about the progress of the FreeRepublic fund-raising, I did spy a post about FreeDominion, the Canadian branch, of sorts, that seems to have grown from the FreeRepublic root.

Whether or not this is what you were pointing me to, I applaud FreeDominion's formation. I would also love to see a FreeStarAndCrescent web site spring up to expound upon the blessings that property rights and limited, constitutional government would bring to the Middle East.

Discussing the truth about government and culture, with participants who are starved for the dialog, is not meddling. Meddling involves propping up dictatorial police states, (Saddam's regime, for example), and the sending of tanks, troops, jet-fighters, etc., when the US has not been attacked by any of the countries in the region. Though, I am still hoping that enough evendence surfaces to justify a preemptive military campaign against the Iraqi government.

George Bush and Tony Blair have both said this is about freedom and the opposite of peace --- terrorism ... jihad is a weapon of self destruction !

America will win the peace too !
