I love Wyoming. I'd move there tomorrow if I thought I could make a living.

You miss the point. Libertarians don't want to RUN anything. They won't be running the state.. They won't be issuing mandates and passing regulations. Libertarians want to REDUCE the power of the state on all levels, and let free people decide what they want in the FREE market.

"What functions would government perform and how would you pay for them?" Roads (tolls), courts (court fees), police (.01% income tax) That should do it.

Just because some Republicans are pro-gay rights, and some are pro dead babies does not mean the republican party as a whole has these issues. And the same reasoning goes for Libertarians, so now we're even.
To: N3WBI3
Fine your pro self-financed abortion, this is still not the position of the republican party. The RNC website doesn't even mention abortion. De facto pro-abortion?
Any way you cut it libertarians are for allowing people to terminate a pre born kid.
We condemn state-funded and state-mandated abortions. It is particularly harsh to force someone who believes that abortion is murder to pay for another's abortion.

Nice selective cut-and-paste there, EEE.
Why don't you post the rest of the LP's stance on abortion?

Do you know if, or how often, someone runs for office in Wyoming on the Libertarian ticket? I wouldn't know. Though I've got 640 acres of prime Wyoming rock farm in Weston county, I'm at present resident in the Memphis area. But though I'm also very much one of the FSP porcupines, I'm not a Libertarian [nor libertarian, though I figure they'll make okay neighbors] and have never voted for a Libertarian in my life, unless it was a sub rosa RINO.
But of course, if the Republicans keep running candidates that liook like, smell like and talk like liberal Democrats, that could change. Note though that not all Libertarians are real happy about the FSP bringing the possibility of real activism into the backyards where their armchair debating societies hold sway, presumably hoping to remain the big toads of their respective little ponds.
The liklihood that it'll be Wyoming or Montana or any of the other possible western states is far from a sure thing, however.

Just keep the Blue dye away from them. Can somebody post that guy from Montana that ran as a Libertarian for the senate who skin turned blue due to some Y2K survivial formula. Perhaps he was ahead of his time. Note the color background behind the porcupine in the FSP emblem:

In Wyoming? Make jobs out of what? In western Wyoming, it is sometimes said that the state flower is a rock. The state bird is a rock. The state tree is a rock. And so forth.
The good thing is that Wyoming has plenty of rocks. Presumably, some of the *possible* future FSP porcupines [Wyoming is but one possible state of 10 that may be chosen next month] may be future Wyoming rock stars.

My cousin in Cody, Wyoming said to me: "If you don't enjoy hunting, fishing...you won't enjoy it here."
If Wyoming is picked, I will somehow try to endure that dreadful possibility. Oh, Bre'r Fox, please don't toss me into that nasty briar patch....
FYI, the little corner of Wyoming I may soon call home is right near a locale picturesquely named Elk Mountain...and another named Rattlesnake Gulch.

They will have to pick a warmer State if they want my participation.Yeah, no kidding. Last time I was in Wyoming was about 8 years ago, the wind was blowing 50 mph and it could not have been over 25 degrees. I didn't thaw out until I got back to California.

Yes!! That's it! If everyone could go on to a government payroll, there would be no unemployment! These socialists have really figured out how to make government the master of us all! That's why I'm leaning towards voting for New Hampshire, myself - the state legislators are paid $100 per year, per the Constitution. A pay raise requires an amendment.
