In short, Kelly's Parliamentary testimony was 100 percent supportive of Tony Blair and his government, and it utterly undercut the supposed basis of the BBC article as claimed by Andrew Gilligan--It was AG who was trying to discredit Blair by 'sexing up'what Kelly had said.Kelly told his Ministry of Defense bosses he had spoken to Gilligan but he did not believe he was the source cited in the report, which quoted its anonymous official as saying the government had "sexed up" the intelligence.
David Kelly told the House of Commons committee that he didn't make the claims in the report and told them that he was not the source. The BBC has practically confessed to stretching the truth by saying that Kelly was their principal source. Now that the facts can be laid alongside the Gilligan broadcast, it clearly differs from Kelly's own account. The irony, according to Kelly's friend Mangold, was that he briefed the BBC in the hope of convincing them of the seriousness of Saddam's threat. All of those involved should reflect long and hard on this fact.
This man before Gilligan got to him was wanting to go to Iraq to help find something. This man was an inspector who Saddam booted out before he could finish his job.Notice how the Gilligan's name is not even mentioned.Remember who the enemy is here.Remember the French.Where was Clinton at the time? Was he not in the UK?
From 1998;David Kelly, a senior UK defense ministry expert, addressed
a French defense conference. Kelly explained the
dangers in Iraq's bw program.He spoke of a "worst-case
scenario" was that of an Iraqi fighter-bomber spraying the contents of a
2,200-litre drop tank during a high-speed, low-altitude flight over a
city. 'It could spray anthrax, a living bacteria which is inhaled and
blocks body functions. It kills within two or three days. Tel Aviv has
a million inhabitants--most could be killed by a single aircraft flying
over the city in specific weather conditions.' . . Kelly also said he
had found evidence of Iraqi 'dirty tricks' programmes that included
research into 'Camel Pox,' a biological weapon that would incapacitate
or kill North Americans or Europeans but spare Arabs."
