The last line of HTML source on the FR home page is: http://xslt.alexa.com/site_stats/js/s/a?url=www.freerepublic.com This source line calls alexa.com for the purposes of keeping statistics on FR homepage hits. The site, alexa.com, has been experiencing technical difficulties. When it does it can act to prevent the finishing of the display of the FR home page. This problem is not your fault and you can not do anything about it other than avoid using the FR home page Spoilsport.
