I don't know what happened, although I do believe that Bryant would have to be insane to ruin all of his advantages and fame for a teenage girl, one who probably isn't much different from others that throw themselves at him. I bet it's going to come out he was using groupies often and he just thought this woman was the typical groupie content with her 10 minutes with a celebrity ---but this time he made a big mistake and picked up one who was looking for something else, one with "issues" who really couldn't stand the thought of being tossed aside so casually.

I hear ya. You and others with this "woman scorned" routine. I've seen it, lived through it, been there, done that. I IS possible.
But you are pulling that out of thin air and applying it to this case as if there were some facts in the case to suggest it, and there are none. The closest I have come to seeing anyone even TRY to point to a fact is when you guys say that becaue she tried out for a TV show, somehow that proves that she is Tawana Brawley, which is an insane stretch.
And there will be plenty of nuts trying to argue that even if the rape kit is very convincing.
If the rape kit is unconvincing, then start with the plausible theories. Meantime, the truth is probably out there, in the kit results, no matter what theories we come up with. And if some of us get too carried away with the theories, no amount of proof will be enough to convince them otherwise.

I have seen interviews with women who claim they were very promiscuous but yet never really enjoyed sex. So the fact that she may have consented does not necessarily mean she was aroused.

After seeing photos of the girl, I can see how she might appear to him as a tyical groupie. There are many "drama queens" with issues who would love to get the attention and sympathy while playing the victum.
Somehow to me her "sick to my stomach" statement strikes me as being in the drama queen mode. The trial will be telling.

No sympathy from me regardless of the assault claim. True or not, he only has himself to blame. Had this man just honored his commitment to his wife then all would be well.

Wow, that's definately a character flaw as far as this rape victim is concerned. What's interesting about this issue as well, is how divided people have become.....if this woman is white, I wonder how many black leaders are going to come forward and slam her in the press. Although I don't believe this woman's claim at this time, I certainly would hate to see a race card being played by the likes of Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.

Do you have your flame retardent suit on?
Ya hit a nerve with this woman but I'm not going to slam you! I agree, some women do throw themselves at rock stars, athletes and rap villains, but you shouldn't put every American woman in this category. Look at the male sluts who throw themselves at famous women with dollar signs in there eyes. Tom Arnold and Roseanne, Madonna and the father of her first child (imho....he would never have looked at her if she were not so famous), Elizabeth Taylor and many men, Cher and the bagel boy. Shall I go on?
The point is, a bigger deal is made out of female sluts who throw themselves at famous and rich people. AND FOR THE RECORD....I have never followed or thrown myself at famous rich men and I never will!

Yes --- I would doubt hookers are often aroused by their johns ---- it depends on motives ---if love and/or passion aren't in the picture, I can see how arousal isn't a factor. Plus it seems Bryant was into 10 minute quickies and could not have cared less if she was pleasured at all. To a girl used to a little more affection, it probably felt like rape when it was all said and done. I can see how both might not exactly be lying.

"it's probably a very small percentage who are star-struck, and most of those are likely quite young. "
Well, I will admit to being star-struck over ONE celebrity. Shepard Smith. BUT you will not find me going to the man's hotel room at any time of day. I'll save the fawning over him for public places should I ever see him in person.

I think that you are on to something. She expected it to be more than it turned out to be, and when she relaized that it was not, she "felt" raped.
Is it true that she waited ~12 hours to cry "rape!"?

But you are pulling that out of thin air and applying it to this case as if there were some facts in the case to suggest it, Aren't all of us who are on here giving any kind of opinion just pulling out of thin air? Not a single person on these threads was there witnessing the event ---- speculation is all any of us can really do ----I'm the first to admit that.

I hope you don't tell your sons about this "implied consent" theory of yours-- they'll end up in the state pen for 10 years.
A woman (and a man too for that matter), can decide to have sex or decide not to have sex at any time. Even if a couple is lying naked in a bed together... one partner has the absolute right to refuse to have sex. She even has the right to change her mind after the sex part has begun. There have been men convicted of rape because they wouldn't stop when the woman told them to. there is no such thing as implied consent in sex.

I'm going to say $2 million.....let the bets begin
Let's see how much he infuriates her and her family before this is over. I say it's a lot closer to $20 million.

Hearing NBA all-star Kobe Bryant deny the sexual assault charge filed against him made his accuser "sick to her stomach," a friend of the woman said Monday. What the Hell did she expect?
"Yes, I'm a rapist, I raped her, and I'm very sorry for the rape. I'm guilty as sin, and I'd like to be taken away to jail now. Thanks for understanding."

"if this woman is white,"
From everything I've seen on the subject, she is white.
