Interesting article, but the author gets some basic facts wrong. La Raza does not officially call for the return of California and the American Southwest to Mexico, nor does it publicly support any organizations calling for such, nor is it overtly racist. La Raza does mean "the race," but officially they use that word to convey that they are organization dedicated to helping poor people of the hispanic "race." They do not publicly proclaim any doctrines of hispanic supremacy or white inferiority. Publicly and officially they are no more anti-white than the United Negro College Fund.

Don't get me wrong. La Raza is still a pernicious organization. They are racist and anti-American, but they're subtle about it so that they can maintain a mainstream facade. Their subversive nature actually makes them much more dangerous than if they were as the author described them.

While I sympathize with the author's goals and ideas, I have to say that writing such blatently untrue things about one's enemies serves no purpose, and actually hurts one's own cause. The first rule of war is, "know thy enemy." Make no mistake about it; we are fighting a war. We need to be smart about our tactics.

Another basic fact the author got wrong: the motto, "Por La Raza Todo, Fuera de La Raza Nada" is Mecha's, not La Raza's, and La Raza does not officially or publicly support Mecha in any way.

This guy does not know the enemy very well.

Thanks for pointing out the false hoods of the author.

It makes it difficult to learn when misinformation is given.

If to much misinformation is put out there the credibility of illegal immagration as a threat to America is not going to be taken seriously.

Er, yes.
And, so?
"Paved road" refers to the joke in original article.

Yeah, I know. The Mexican blames the Americans for his poor roads, making the ridiculous claim that we stole his paved roads back in the 1830's, before asfault was invented.

No, it is a tounge-in-cheek comment on the part of the Mexican. The Mexican admires our paved roads and wishes he had paved roads like that in his country.

Major Problem:

The folks, both Democrat and Republican who pander to the illegal immigrant community, the former for cheap, tax-supported crooked votes, the latter presumably for cheaper, tax-supported labor, are only strengthened by racists, or at least let's call them xenophobes, who very loudly inhabit the legitimate movement to control the borders in accordance with existing law.

I get to work a lot in Mexico (now there's a switch ...and legally, too!)and know a lot of Mexicans of the managerial classes (and believe me, pal, it is a class). I can vouch that this feeling of revenge exists. I can attest that many Mexicans themselves are what I would consider "racist." Certainly, they say very impolite things in public that would get them if not arrested in the US, at least a fat lip.

They are cursed with a political structure which will never allow them to build a for-real country, and they know it on many levels. Their inability to do anything about it leads to anger and frustration, directed at the US. Their literature tells us about their self-loathing as "hijos de la madre chingada," which is all about the Spanish custom of virtual polygamy, in which colonial (and many later) Spaniards had half-breed families, and then married more worthy wives from Spain, whose more legitimate offspring inherited the wealth and position of the father.

Anywhere ruled by Spain for more than 15 minutes has been screwed up for 5 centuries. However, Spain itself is really coming on strong as a major European economic and military power with a modern, flexible, and reasonably straightforward, multi-ethnic government. Perhaps this will serve as a model.

However, it had better work fast. Even the paltry social improvements brought to Mexico in the last decades have only led to a population explosion that is mind-blowing in Western European terms. That a corrupt and incredibly inefficient government's huge young population is encouraged to walk here and set up shop does not bode well for us. You can't hate the poor bastards sneaking in for it. I would do the same thing.

Which is not the same thing as us sitting back and letting this tragedy happen. One big reason it is still happening, is that those who favor or benefit from illegal immigration have absolutely been able to paint everyone against it as a racist, or hispanophobe, or something equally horrible (and definitely politically incorrect, which I suspect is Jackalope's major problem.)

The Republicans have yet to show true leadership on this issue. Karl Rove has convinced the official GOP that the offspring of illegal aliens are the future of the GOP. The Democrats have also sold their major constituency, the African-Americans, down the river on this, too. The influx of cheap Mexican labor has hurt them the most conspicuously. Their major accomplishment is that they keep the A-A vote and add the illegal Mexican vote to it!

Sorry, but GWB has to step up to the plate, NOW.

Argentina was doing rather well for itself until the second half of the 20th century. Chile has also been a model since Pinochet took over and cleaned house. Uraguay also is quite civilized, I understand. But yes, you are right, the good examples are few and far between.

What a monumental waste of time and effort. Clearly, you do not understand history, nor can you acurately forecast future trends. Look, my friend, the jig is up. All societies collapse from within; the US is no different.

It only took ONE generation to transform Calif. and bring her to her knees. Once the cancer has struck, there are too many parties that benefit from utilizing it as a lever to gain further policital/monetary gain.

If you want to understand the future of Calif., look no further than Mexico itself. The future of Calif is one where the wealthy live within secure areas separate and distinct from the masses. The trends are obvious to anyone who stops and considers them for a moment.

In OC, coastal communities like Huntington Beach and Newport Beach are almost entirely white. Given restrictive real estate covenants based on lot density and development type ie single-family home (not racial), these communities will always retain there high income complexion. OTOH, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, etc will continue to look like the favelas outside of Saa Paolo and Rio.

Prop 187 was the last hurrah; the futile fight against the inevitable. To equate it to Roman times, it's probably around 200 AD. But, even after Rome fell, there were always enclaves. The only interesting question at this point is where might the ideals that created this country re-surface in around 200-300 years?

Upon reflection, I take your point. The fact that what you help me see, I am loathe to accept, certainly does nor change what is there. Let me ask though. will it not be of benefit for us to slow the inevitable, perthaps to build a more plaatable alternative for the generations to follow.

What I mean to say is that given what we know and with good examples from which to benefit, must we relive our own version of the so-called Dark Ages?
