So lemme see if I got this right. The writer criticizes people for criticizing a movie they haven't seen, and then goes on to praise a movie he hasn't seen?

Remember that a donation doesn't have to be large to be significant. There are tens of thousands of FReepers. If everyone would donate just $1.00 a month, we would never have to have another of these FReepathons.

Strangely, the criticism comes mostly from critics who have not even seen the movie but were basing their attacks on an old draft version of the script. The German people supported the war and they didn't see the holocast pictures of either.
Ignorance is an embedded reporter in an empty environment.

So lemme see if I got this right. The writer criticizes people for criticizing a movie they haven't seen, and then goes on to praise a movie he hasn't seen? For a movie that isn't going to appear for six months or so. Talk about a build up!

Harry Knowles is an idiot, and I usually don't listen to a damned thing he has to say. The talkbackers at AICN aren't much better. You should've read the things some of them had to say about Mel Gibson, this movie, and Christianity as a whole.
Still, whatever Knowles' opinion of the movie may be, I'm very much looking forward to seeing The Passion! Judging by the trailer, alone (Which played really choppily for me), it looks to be a really powerful movie.

I used to think that truth would make you free. I now know that truth purchases hatred. People hate the truth, they like comfortable lies. The more dedicated one is to the truth, the more of an outcast one becomes.

How do you like that Mantle of Victimhood? Enjoying it? Just wondering, as I don't actually see anyone, fundamentalist or otherwise, attacking you.

Mel Gibson portrays the truth directly from the Bible and they act like he has re-written history. That type of ignorance is astonishing. But I do wonder why so much of Hollywood is atheist. I read on another thread that Christians there hide their belief to save their career. Was it always this way...or just since Clinton?

Don't die until you're shot, Huck. Maybe your comments are best saved for when you see "The Passion"---I hear it's coming out around Lent next year. Consult your local Christian if you don't know when that is.

???Why the double question marks? Has Jim posted a review here? No, but he has on Newsmax.com. It appeared there a day or two ago.

Maybe the other poster's prediction was unfounded. While your "mantle of victimhood" comment is clearly snide and hostile, I wouldn't consider it an attack, so I agree with your scorecard, as such. Have a great day.

Perhaps the true graphic representation of Christ's suffering is really too powerful for movie viewers today? I highly doubt that. There are plenty of other graphic depictions of suffering and cruelty out there.
I believe that people today thirst for the truth.
When has this ever not been the case?
Let them see the truth with their own eyes. "The truth will set you free."
They won't see the truth. They'll see a cinematic depiction of events described in the bible.
