eBay has changed a lot since I first started back in 1999.

You can say that again. I have maybe 100 feedback responses starting in January, 1999. I basically sell my electronics that I have no use for anymore. Until about 2002, most everyone was a pleasure to deal with, knew exactly what they were bidding on, and read the instructions. Out of my 100 auctions though, the last 2 have gone bad, and the one before those was painfully slow in finishing. People have either not responded to my e-mails, or say "I didn't know you wouldn't accept Paypal" despite the fact that I clearly state it in the auction. Times there have changed.

Profit margins are WAAAAAY down so that is why it is best to sell tons of stuff. You still make money but you have to work harder for it. However, that robot e-mail takes a lot of the work away.

Why anyone would want to purchase from the example you cited with that horrible feedback record is beyond me.

Have a look at their feedback. The negatives are usually buried with long strings of positive feedback from only a handful of regular bidders. Check it out.
