I'm happily married with three daughters. I stay happily married because I do my share, expect my wife to do hers, and decline to be a doormat for anyone. Among my circle of friends, I do not have anybody who dumped his wife in order to get a "newer model", but have several whose wives dumped them in order to move on to a bigger, better, deal
I've looked at your comments on other threads. The only threads you seems to have any interest in participating in are the ones where you can vent your anger and unhappiness at men, and complain about how badly you were treated by your ex-husband in your own failed marriage (eg, your posts #137, #258, and #259 in Young men are running from marriage )
Come up to the present. I am not your ex-husband. Nobody else here is your ex-husband either. It's time to resume your life and move on. I realize (as you mention in #259 above) that good men may be hard to find -- but you will never find one as long as you have that enormous chip on your shoulder -- the one that whacks any nearby guy across the face every time you turn around
As men find it more difficult to find a healthy sexual outlet in marriage, expect perversions to increase. High divorce rates, working wives who consider sexual relations with their husband a chore instead of a loving part of marriage, and females who choose to work putting off marriage until (too) late in life have all encouraged men to look to look elsewhere for sex. Not to mention that a 2 dimensional image of a woman cannot pick-up the phone and dial 911 with a bogus DV charge.
The growth of porn is not due exclusively to availability, there has to be a demand for it as well.
I hope that someday you can put your hatred aside and consider what is best for the Republic and the traditional family where there is a mother and a father present for the children.
There is the flaw in your reasoning--there are no 'sane ones'....
Hmmmmmmm..... You're freudian slip is showing.
Now, chookter, you're insulting my wife.
Ta Wee: But men who want to punch between the eyes are of course, sane.
If women were sane, they would enjoy the pain
Why don't you two go off in a corner and have at each other. That is what I think is the definition of hell - only it goes on longer than life on earth.
--and I'm definitely becoming a misogynist. I tried to fight it, initially, but weight of evidence has overwhelmed me....
I've baby-shaken my inner child to death and have embraced my inner cad.
I'd say baby killing is criminal, violent and tends toward mayhem.
chookter - nowadays it sounds corny and simple to talk about religion and God since for the last 30 years God's teachings (the bible) have been and are rejected by so many around us and in the media and especially the feminists. The key to this man/woman relationship thing is both partners must respect God first, then with that in place, both can respect and love each other regardless of our faults. My wife and I both went through periods in our lives, before we met, where we could look upon the opposite sex with contempt - but we both believed in God and in due time (a long long time) found each other. If you put God first, and trust Him, you will find a woman doing the same and then you will find happiness in marriage. Our society has made this a very hard road to travel to say the least.
Women want the security to know that the man they marry will be there with them and the children for their entire life. That's how it is in God's plan laid out by the bible. When women feel they cannot have this security, when society tries to pattern itself on something other than the ten Commandments, then women will try to use the state to obtain security. That's what we're witnessing today.
What some of us are discussing is the sociological implications of a society where men have been robbed of their incentive to work. You saw this is in the Soviet Union where the state *dictated* what men should do, what crops they would plant, what factory they should report to, etc.
Communism looked great on paper to the social engineers and to the elites who felt unbound by the decrees they dictated to everyone else. They had a solution to men behaving badly - they murdered them. The remaining males were kowtowed into doing what they could to survive. But survival is not the same as excelling and the men increasingly failed to put forth good work, only what they needed to get by. The Soviet Union collapsed from within, as did the communist states of Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, East Germany, etc, because uninspired men rarely excel.
The danger communism posed to the East, feminism now poses to the West - a massive socialist nanny-state government increasingly removing the incentive for men to excel.
Call it unmanliness, call it wimpishness, weakness or whatever. I call it human nature. And that's to be ignored at one's own peril.
I think that is true. I do respect God. He is first in my life, but the churches in my area just stink--so I'm kind of on my own with that one... The Protestant ones are unbelievably liberal and I'm not Catholic, though my ex was--I used to go to Mass with her (when she used to go, before she got into New Age crap and Tarot reading) and the girls were dressed like 'hoochie-mamas'. I mean it was pretty cool, T & A and lots of exposed flesh, but not really what I would go to church for....
Women want the security to know that the man they marry will be there with them and the children for their entire life.
I don't believe that is true anymore. It may have never been true. I believe that we do not, and cannot, know what women want because they don't know what they want. They only wanted 'security' and a 'life-time mate' because they suffered badly if they didn't.
then women will try to use the state to obtain security.
No, they will use it to get money, fun, power and to avoid responsibility

Trusting in God is what heals the wounds inflicted by unloving husbands and unsubmissive wives. But this has been increasingly shunned and discarded by our society and woe is us as a result.
BTW, who's the "we"? You and the mouse in your pocket?
