We didn't do that in WW2 and that was a declared war. Good point. However, we already had a standing army by that point as well. Not to mention the whole New Deal BS and liberalized government.

If PNAC has enemies like William Rivers Pitt, then it's going up in my estimation.

Nice to see there are still one or two intelligent people here. Otherwise, what a bunch of sheep...
To: Skywalk
So the fact that this same drivel appears in LYNDON LAROUCHE'S magazine, down to the claim that Strauss is their intellectual godfather, does not disturb you and damage the credibility of this article? It was also written about in about 100 other newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times. Your argument is ridiculous and retarded.

Prove Saudi Arabia is a direct threat to the US, get Congress to pass a Declaration... and get to it. Clean out the entire middle east for the good of the whole world. Just whacking on other Nations because you want their resources is not a good enough reason however.
Texaco privateers? Would they be under the same strictures that our military personnel are under as far as shoot/don't shoot situations are concerned?
As for the Law of Nations. Are you refering to current UN "law", the old european standard used from around 1300AD to around 1900AD, or one you dug up at Findlaw.org?

Are you incapable of reading properly? I said it was in about 100 other mainstream papers etc. So what if the LaRouchies wrote about it at some point? If they wrote that the sky was blue would you immediately discount it because of who wrote it? That sounds like something the commies loved to do: attack the source and ignore the message.

...the "I won't shoot until I'm shot at, even if the guy is pointing a gun into my face and reaching for the trigger" approach...
So, Saddam was pointing a gun in our faces and reaching for the trigger? Hmmmm...
To: sheltonmac
So, Saddam was pointing a gun in our faces and reaching for the trigger? Hmmmm... Not really -- but he was certainly reaching for the gun. At what point is it appropriate to decide that once he reaches the pistol, he's gonna point it at you?

Of course we must destroy our enemies. Destroying evil is an important part of being good. You completely missed the point. The point here is that due to our imperialist agenda nations will be forced to attack us or be assimilated.
Let me say that again, so that you may comprehend the severity.
Due to our imperialist agenda nations will be forced to attack us or be assimilated.

I miss the old days when I had
an attention span greater than

bring out a Dummies version...

All they do is background noise. Apparently, you are not supposed to notice that our occupation of Iraq benefits Israel and is only an enormous expense in lives, treasury and presitge to us.
Just write "JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS" many times and hope you can shame everyone into guilty silence.Nice.....

Ah the NY Times, that paragon of accuracy and truth!
Also stated in 100 papers: How evil Joe McCarthy was, global warming is going to destroy the earth, etc etc.

And this is the reason a third party will arise from the right instead of the left. I imagine it will be a relationship between several groups the Republican party has thrown overboard in their light speed move to the left and bigger governmentAnd I was just getting used to the idea of change from within.....back to the books I guess.

And the very fact that you fail to see what a conservative should object to in this statement is what is frightening. The 'conservative' party doesn't care about the end result as long as it is in power. They cite the name of Reagan, as if it is supposed to wash over all possible Constitutional issues that could possibly arise over 'world leadership'. I guess it has to be remembered we're doing it for the children....

Ron Paul could be an excellent leader for that party--if only he understood that "peacenik" libertarianism is not conducive to liberty.Yah, if he'd just get it thru his little brain that globe trotting militarism is the true path to liberty he'd be the perfect leader......

"can't you see that you need not support an 18th century style foreign policy, but can still oppose domestic interventionism? "
Except that an interventionist foreign policy inevitably leads to the latter.

This is a classic! I can't figure out why more people don't know about PNAC, the neocons, etc. Why?Take a look at the first 20 or so posts to this thread. Immediate and viscious mudslinging....the obvious result of a nerve being struck but nonetheless effective at quelling interest and affirmation.
