Speaking of Biblical Greek, there is a mailing list for scholars of ancient Greek. I input John 1:1 and got a lot of different interpretations. And these guys are for the most part classical scholars.

If the 9 year old is going to become a scientist, he will need these concepts eventually, although not until grad school. If he isn't going to be a scientist, it doesn't matter at all. It matters to the parents and they are responsible for training their children, not the govt. Maybe some parents don't want their kids indoctrinated into atheism, and have the schools undermine their own training. Ever thought of that? Maybe they don't want their kids taught that they evolved from a primate, that life is an accident of evolution (and consequently leads nowhere!), that they cannot control their primordial sexual drives, that tolerance is the highest virtue (over truth even), that all sexual desires are good and normal, that each person chooses his own morality, etc. etc. etc. Did you ever stop to think that some people don't want their kids to be indoctrinated into your religion? I don't force your kids to attend church, so keep your mits off mine! Parents have a right to teach their kids what they want to teach them without interference from tyrant neodarwinians and their government abettors. This is America - read the Constitution. One day people are going to rise up against you darwinian tyrants and that will be the end of your monopoly.

I see, we creationists are too stupid to know what our kids NEED - we should let YOU decide. I don't think so. You will have to come to my house and pry my kid from my cold dead hands. Good luck trying.

tolerance is the highest virtue (over truth Tnx for the rantlet.
Sometimes virtues appear destructive when they are in fact destroying untruth. The forces of oppression shall be defeated and freedom shall be realized.

Truth is untruth. Oppression is freedom. There are few scientists in the world, and fewer philosophers.

Truth is untruth. Oppression is freedom. There are few scientists in the world, and fewer philosophers. Well, if this statement is any indication, you are certainly no philosopher. I have no idea what you are trying to say here or what context you are using, however "truth is untruth" is self-refuting. "Truth is untruth" cannot be a true statement, therefore it is meaningless. That's like saying, "Everything I say is a lie."

"Truth is untruth" cannot be a true statement Beyond logic to ethics: reason is negative: choose being or destruction. If truth is irrational, truth must be untruth.

As you can see from the genealogy qam1 posted the children of Jechonias didn't melt. They continued, although not being blessed of God with the power of their forebearers.
The blood curse served another purpose that you may have overlooked. As you can well imagine, Satan must have been very happy to hear God pronounce this curse. Satan's main thrust throughout scripture has been to stop the birth of the Messiah. Notice Gods responses to Satan in parenthesis.
1. The tempting of Eve (started the battle between Satan and the seed of the woman bringing Messiah.)
2. Cain's murder of Abel. (Strengthened the line of Shem to Noah).
3. Near complete destruction of all peoples during the flood. (Destroying Satans attempt to completely currupt man).
4. The desire for men to become like unto God with the tower of Babel. (Served to disperse the population of the world for future growth).
5. Esau's desire to kill Jacob because he stole the blessing.(Jacob had the blessing transfered to the line of Messiah, Israel)
6. The brothers of Jacob trying to end the 12 tribes by throwing Joseph in the Hole.(He survived the fall and ended up saving all 12 tribes of Israel from famine).
7. The Pharoh in Egypt killing the Jewish boys. (Circumvented by the midwives which led to Moses Princehood in Egypt).
8. The subsequent Pharoh trying to keep the Jews enslaved. (Being freed by Moses and the Exodus of whom the Pharoh wouldn't kill because of his former status).
9. Enraging Moses to strike the rock twice trying to break the model of Christ being smitten once. (Moses was kept from the Promise land for this major infraction, but the righteous Joshua who escaped death during the wilderness wanderings to lead Israel to the promise land).
10. The Israelis believeing they could force God to give them a King, unrighteous Saul (God had David annoited King during Saul's rule).
11. The blood curse of Jecohnias. (see post # 2305)
12. The Babylonian Captivity destroying Jerusalem. (Faithful Daniel reading Scripture to Cyrus the Medio-Persian conqueror of Babylon speaking of his prophetic conquest releasing the Jews to return to Israel).
13. The attempt by Herod to kill all in Bethlehem less than 2 years of age. (Joseph took Jesus to Egypt to escape and fulfill prophecy saying God would bring His son out of Egypt).
14. The temptations of Christ by Satan. (Demonstrating to us we can use the Word of God to resist Satan).
15. The direct temptation through Peter to try avoiding the cross. (Illustrating to us that Satan is contrary to God's will and wants to use us for evil, but Jesus recognized Satan using Peter so we can know those close to Jesus are not immune to being used. Jesus also prays for His children like Peter).
There are many more instances in scripture and they all speak of Jesus come to free us from destruction. The message conveyed in the Bible is an intergrated whole that perfectly ties together across 1000's of years.
Since the cross Satan has been in a rage. Review the wars that have plagued mankind and you will see his handiwork. It has culminated in the 1900's with millions and millions destroyed by the evil influences of Satan. He knows his days are numbered and wishes to take as many down as he can.
Don't let it be you!!
