Hey Band leader, I have a new S&W 1911 on order, I too would like to get my hands on it. I hear it is a hell of a gun. I have nothing but S&W and Colt hand guns except for a Browning Highpower 9MM, and it seems to work quite well

Thia is a GREAT day for this. Reminds me a lot of the attitude and spirit of the 50 Million Round March we held a couple of years back.

How appropriate to do this on this day, July 9th, when the Iranians are protesting and rebelling in the streets against tyranny...using sticks and clubs.

Thank God for the wisdom of our founders which has produced over 80+ million Americans armed to defend their liberty. Those numbers and this notion are the bane of the liberal/socialis/marxist/globalist elite who know they must find a way to disarm us before they can have the control that is excerted in other places.

I've currently got on layaway a .50 cal. heavy bench, muzzle loading target rifle built in 1947 by Jack Weichold who was one of the premier roundball barrel makers in his day.

The barrel is 1 5/8" wide by 40" long with false muzzle (ask if you don't know what a false muzzle is) =^)

It has a full maple stock with relief carving and brass escutcheons that are engraved. The trigger guard and butt plate are also brass. The brass all has a nice patina and will NOT be polished!!

It has a set of Redfield peep sights with Merit adjustable aperture and double set triggers. Can't wait to haul this beauty to the range.

My carry piece is a .357 Ruger SP101. My brother recently bought an 8mm Mauser and Ruger 10/22.

Now get out there and BUY BUY BUY!!! =^)

The .357 Sig has the ballistics of the 125 gr .357 Magnum out of a 4" revolver. This was the most efficient one-shot stop round before the majority of departments switched from revolvers to semiautomatics.

The cheapest way to buy ammo, by far, is to first get a recent copy of Shotgun News and read it from cover to cover. There is a LOT of surplus 9mm, also Russian Wolf ammo and the like, dirt cheap. You can have 1000 rounds dropped at your door for around 100 bucks.

A good shotgun is a Remington 870. Can't go wrong with that. I like my Mossberg 500, and a Winchester 1300 is also a good shotgun. But get a 12-gauge no matter what make and model you get. As for rifles, it all depends on what you want it for. A good, all-around rifle that should take care of most of your North American needs would be a .30-06, such as a Remington 700 or a Winchester 70.

I am thinking that Sig will be my next handgun. What are the advantages to this new .357 Sig round vs .40 cal ?

Recoil is slightly snappier with the .357 Sig, and it's significantly louder at the range, which is a moot point with proper hearing protection.

I think the 357 Sig round has slighlty more energy than the .40 caliber round, but both are effective defense rounds. Personally, I prefer the 357 Sig.

The really cool thing is you can get one and switch to the other caliber by replacing the barrel ($150), which can be done in about 15 seconds. If you get the 226 or 229, you can also use the same magazines for both calibers. If you go with the 239, you'll need a separate mag for each caliber.
