I think Pop is just a tad high strung. Maybe he should change to decaf.

When she declined to let him join the game, he grabbed the monitor and flung it...

Ah, the truth comes out! That's what he was really ticked off at. He wanted to play and she wouldn't give up the controller.

I have been that angry... but usually it's because I'm waiting for my puter to respond from the idiot ISP...

*I think Pop is just a tad high strung. Maybe he should change to decaf.*

Not all that unusual for Korea. Women there are expected to show a great amount of deferential respect to men, especially when the breadwinner is returning home.

When I read stuff like this, I'm so glad I was born in this country. Defference indeed. What happens if the family is being carried by a female worker. Does she get the same "deference" as a man would?

No.

Let me relate this story. A buddy of mine married a Korean girl, not an immigrant, but a real Korean. (He was in the Army). Se was like his servant.... when he came home from work, she had a hot bath ready for him, gave him a massage, and had a hot meal for him when he came out of the hot bath.
Her father went to my buddy and asked him "Do you love my daughter?" Buddy said yes. "So why don't you hit her?" asked the father. Apparently, the Korean girl had gone to daddy telling him that her husband must not love her because he didn't hit her. Whole different culture over there.
So it's easy to see that the girl refusing to acknowledge her father when he came home is, in that culture, a grievous lack of respect.

Believe it or not, there was a time when I probably needed them. Fortunately, I never did any permanent damage to anyone.

I think we gain perspective and mellow a bit with time. ;-)
