How do you know the line was previously surveyed?1. The lot was surveyed to begin with.
2. Property taxes.
3. Sidewalk easement.

75% of pre-70's lots in NC have not been surveyed for right-of-way. The width of the right-of-way varies from lot to lot, as well. The right-of-way for some plots, for instance, is used during road widening projects. If the projects go beyond the right-of-way, theoretically, the landowner owns out into the road. In some situations, land is purchased for right-of-ways that vary from 0 to 20 feet for various future projects.
Hiring a surveyor, to help defend a property boundary case in NC, makes good sense.

Actually, you're saying that it is LIKELY that this guy was trespassing long before he crossed the line.

I feel a lot safer knowing this praying line-crosser has been arrested.

Those stakes and the camera got put in place because some schmuck managed to convince all and sundry at the clinic that he was a real threat.
He went out with the intent of starting a fight.
Amazingly enough, he succeeded.
Every now and then, some out-of-town idiot (OOTI) shows up and tries to "radicalize" the local pro-life groups. At first, they succeeded, and we now have pro-lifers with jail records. Now, they don't--but it turns into a free-for-all, and it tends to bring effective opposition to abortion to a screeching halt while we deal with the OOTI(s).
If Operation Rescue didn't exist, Planned Parenthood and NARAL would have to invent them.
Given Operation Rescue's propensity for sidelining effective local grassroots pro-life activity, maybe that's exactly what Planned Parenthood and NARAL did.

Why would the Charlotte police want to silence Reverend Benham? Because they know they are sworn to protect life and they are failing miserably. NO
They are sworn to enforce the law.

The last 2 nights, I have seen the local news (Charlotte) tear this group Oper.Save America/Op.Rescue apart. Their slant on reporting about this group would make one think that they are potential terrorists. I'm disgusted and very much afraid that persecution of true Christians who speak out for the truth has now started in America.
